Specific questions about cabanas on Nellies Beach

That used to be Royal's policy, but it was changed about a year ago. Nellie's cabana guests no longer have access to the upgraded buffet.

I think it really depends on the cabana attendant...my husband and I booked an OTW cabana for our March cruise and we booked it well after the change to 'no upgraded buffet'.

Our attendant came over to us a bit before noon that day, said he had a surprise for us and gave us the wristbands for the lunch for suite guests. Just a short walk from our cabana.

I can't compare the food to the 'regular' buffet since we didn't see the regular buffet, but for me the best part was the convenience (it was so close to our cabana) and the fact that it wasn't crowded at all and easy to find a place to sit and eat.

  • 2 weeks later...

Just got off my cruise so can share details to clarify :

1. Selection of cabanas was indeed first come first served

2. There was no wristband policy in effect at Nellies beach. If we had really wanted to, we could have had our entire party of 15 in the two cabanas (we had 11). I got the impression they didn't make a big fuss over 1-2 extras but mainly want to avoid having 20 people in one cabana.

3. Playing music was not an issue

4. Our attendants got us wristbands so we could access the BBQ at Barefoot beach just next door. They kept telling us to keep it quiet, but I don't think we were the only cabana guests who got this perk. the upgraded buffet had ribs, chicken breast , steak and seafood skewers.

Any other questions just post here

Hi all...

What cabana number would you guys recommend? I am looking to get some sun while my husband is looking for shade inside.

I know it depends on time of day, etc but curious as if anyone loved their specific cabana and could share what number it was.

Thanks!
