Carnival Fantasy 7.24.14 - 5 day to Freeport & Nassau

Recommended Posts

After the party, we decided to have a seat along the way on deck 9, to people watch. I still had my yellow bird from the party.

I went to the restroom and when I came back DH was talking to the CD, Pete. He was very nice and asked us about our cruises.

Many people were out and about, enjoying their last day of the cruise.

We went outside to enjoy the deck for a while.

That didn't last long. LOL. We decided to go back in and go to the Majestic Bar to visit to Trayana. DH had a pina colada, and I had a yellow bird. Trayana is such a nice person. We enjoyed talking with her. I made nice comments about her on our guest survey, along with our waiters (you'll see them next) also.

Off to dinner. Of course we hear the song about leaving. I don't remember what we had for dinner but I did get a picture of the cappuccino pie. It was frozen so that I could barely eat it, but I couldn't eat it anyway, too full.

I asked our waiters to get together for a picture. Joseph, Glenn and Raymond.

After dinner, Dat Band was doing 80's music. We wanted to get a seat though in the Forum lounge for the comedy show, and good thing we did, because it was filling up fast and it was crowded.

When comedy was over, we called it a night. The cruise was over. :(

Woke up bright and early on Tuesday. I had it on my mind we had to pack and go home. We don't put out our luggage the night before, we always do self-assist. This way we don't have to wait for our zone to be called, and we thought we could start on our trip home fairly early.

Packing didn't take long. We went to Lido for breakfast and avoided much of the crowds.

One final look out of the port hole window

Ready to go

The picture above the bed. I found it strange, but didn't pay that much attention to it throughout the week. Only after I came home did I take a closer look.

They had started saying the day before to check with a certain channel on TV regarding debarkation. I found the channel on the TV that gave instructions on when we could leave

Since we were on Riviera deck, it wasn't our turn yet. We waited and were anxious to get out. Of course when you're waiting, it seems to take forever.

Also, here is a paper telling us the times....we were Riviera port side so you can see it says 8:20 for us

Well, we went out in the hall and there was a line from the elevators all the way back. Oh, it took forever. There was an employee directing people to which elevator to get into (out of 2) and the line did not move fast. Well we finally got out

Out of the 10 cruises, I must say this was the slowest process of getting off the ship. It just seemed like it took forever. I know it probably seemed that way because we wanted to get going. Not sure if everyone was in a mad rush to get off the ship, or if its like this all the time.

Leaving the ship

Went through customs, showed our passports, left the building and were directed outside. One way for those who have rides from friends/family or those getting a taxi, the other way for those who parked in the garage. We were in the latter group so we made our way with the others who had to get to the car park.

We waited only a minute for the shuttle; they threw our luggage into a trailed behind the shuttle bus. We were dropped off in the garage, and collected our luggage from the trailer. We finally left the city of Charleston around 9:30. Ugh, we had a 10 hour drive home.

This was a nice cruise for a quick 5 day getaway. We missed being with friends, but it was nice to relax too. I felt like I did get a lot of relaxation in! We don't really get into the hairy chest contest, mixology contest, the game shows, etc. We didn't go to any main shows this cruise, with the exception of a few minutes of the Brits, and didn't care for it. We only stopped in the piano bar for a short while also. The comedy shows were entertaining. The crew/staff was overall very friendly, our Dining Room service was wonderful, and our room steward was efficient.

Next up: Conquest in October. Enjoy your cruises, everyone. :)

Really enjoyed your review!

Thank you for saying so. The reviews are a lot of work and take a lot of time, so it is appreciated when someone does let me know that they enjoyed it, and/or it was useful for them. Will encourage me to do another review for my next cruise. :)

Love your review and pics! You've set the bar super high for me. I've done a bunch of reviews on here but have never figured out how to post more than a thumbnail. I have to figure it out how to post pics so I can do a halfway decent review when I get back. Thank you so much :)

I just upload to FB and then copy and paste them here. Seems to work well but sometimes the come out too large for some reason. I didn't seem to have a problem with that this time. I will be looking for your review when you return!!!

Funny, exact same location. It is a drive, but DH and I split it up so it wasn't too bad. I drove first and he slept a little, then he drove and I dozed off for a few minutes. Time seemed to pass by quickly, but can't say the same for the drive back home.

Enjoy your time on the Fantasy. :)
