arkiesgirl Posted January 11, 2015 #26 Posted January 11, 2015 Mother's is great but be prepared to wait in line. Sent from my iPhone using Forums
Can'tWait2SetSail Posted January 12, 2015 #27 Posted January 12, 2015 I have heard great things about Red Gravy. We are going to try that and Ruby Slipper.
Bamagirl_gina Posted January 25, 2015 #28 Posted January 25, 2015 If you are looking for a quaint, VERY casual place (thrown away plates, etc.), great prices and not so touristy, check out Hobnobbers on Carondelet Street! You place your order at the counter and go back and pick it up. Typical breakfast items, but you can also get gumbo, etc. at breakfast. I had seafood gumbo (with actual crab legs in it) and a bloody mary just prior to heading for the port. It's a little "hole in the wall" but great food and customer service. Here's a link to their menu--They have a website but no menu: http://www.allmenus.com/la/new-orleans/40252-hobnobbers/menu/ There are also lots of reviews on TripAdviser.
Ckrewz Posted January 26, 2015 #29 Posted January 26, 2015 I'll add Elizabeth's for those who don't mind/like getting off the beaten path. http://www.elizabethsrestaurantnola.com/index.html Praline Bacon! ;)

(would like more than just a pastry or coffee shop) Thanks Hi calico, There are some great suggestions in this thread . But for our money our favorite places for breakfast in the quarter; hands down: D. http://www.croissantdornola.com http://www.brennansneworleans.com Enjoy! Jorge
disneyfan551 Posted January 21, 2016 #33 Posted January 21, 2016 Not my thread, but thanks to everyone for posting!
calicostorms Posted August 7, 2016 Author #34 Posted August 7, 2016 So I am happy to say we are now going back to NOLA for the third time. We absolutely love Ruby Slipper and went there for the 1st and 2nd trips. We will be going there again this time - however this time we plan on arriving a day early so I will have another chance to try something new and still get my fix for the egg cochon at Ruby's. After reviewing all of the suggestions on this chain I think we may try Mothers now on the hunt searching through all of the NOLA treads for great dinner suggestions - I love cruise critic!
rgg Posted August 13, 2016 #35 Posted August 13, 2016 Jimmy J's Cafe. Great breakfast. Their bacon infused Bloody Mary is amazing! http://jimmyjscafe.com

I had my best meal of my entire visit in NOLA there last year. The ambiance is not the greatest but the food was amazing! Unique craft beer choices, too.
