gems of the rhine river cruise ports

hi guys

has anyone cruised the rhine and can you tell me if any of the ports need a transfer to a town/city or are the ships moored close enough to walk? 2 of the main ports are dusseldorf and cologne.

this is on fillia rheni. anyone been on this cruiser?

We've done several river cruises and in most cities you are docked in "the heart" of things and very walkable. I know Cologne is, I can't recall Dusseldorf.

We've never done "Saga", always Viking, Grand Circle or Vantage. Check out the "river cruises" thread for more specific info regarding that line and river cruising in general. As I said, we've done several and river cruising is our ABSOLUTE favorite way to see Europe.
