Our Lovely Liberty cruise (with pics) 8/9/14

I did have the El Gaucho steak, really, really good, but pricy…..

 

 

For two hours, we had a wonderful dinner with our friends from New Jersey, who were in Aruba for a two week vacation. Here’s a group shot…..

 

 

All too soon it was time to head back to the ship. We said our goodbyes, and then we caught a taxi for the five minute ride back. We were back at the cruise terminal by 9:15pm, in plenty of time to meet the 9:30pm boarding time.

Once on board, we went right back to our cabins, as we were very tired from the day, and the huge meal that we had just had. We watched our night time sail away from our very dark “secret” deck…..

 

 

 

 

 

Once we were out to sea, we all turned in for the night. Tonight’s towel animal…..

 

 

We received our invitation for the Captain’s Diamond Cocktail Party…..

We were here about an hour. The water was beautiful, and there were plenty of fish to seen. It’s a shame I didn’t think to bring my water camera along! After getting in the water, Ryan realized that he had his phone in his pocket. So much for the lucky rocks! Well, at least I had insurance on it. Here are our jeeps parked at the top of the beach…..

 

 

The tour is now over and we are now heading back to the ship. Ryan and I highly recommend this tour. We had a great time….

 

 

We are running really late. The tour was supposed to be over around 5pm, and it was now almost 6:30 when we got back to the ship. We are supposed to meet friends for dinner at 6:30! No problem. I gave our friends a call letting them know we would be late, and then took the fastest shower of my life. We were back off the ship at 7pm, and got these shots of the sunset as we headed to the taxi stand…..

I think we were one of the last ones back on board. We actually sailed from Aruba 15 minutes early!

I am all caught up now Jeff. Love the pics of Aruba. We were there in April and did the Banana Bus tour. It was a lot of fun

 

Hubby and I are thinking about the Banana Bus tour is it good?

Absolutely YES....it was wonderful. We had about 20 people on our tour. It was $25.00 per person. We visited the Rock Formations, Alto Vista Chapel, the California Lighthouse, and Palm Beach.

A lot of people said to us that they didn't know what to say, and I fully understood, because I wouldn't know what to say. There are no words. For us, just the fact that you came and paid respects, was the greatest comfort.

Thank you so much for your kind words. We are so sorry that you have to endure such a tragic loss.

 

This review has been very therapeutic for us, and I am happy that it has allowed some people to open up and talk about these things. We have found that talking about it was the best way to handle our grief, so we didn't shut ourselves in, and immediately we allowed people to visit and talk with us.

 

I hope my other faithful readers don't mind when the talk turns this way. We can all learn from each other.

 

Congrats on becoming a Grandmother. It must be a great feeling.

Curious:confused: How much were the steaks. Did you get picks of menu??

 

Didn't think to take any pics of the menu or the meal, as we were out with friends. The Gaucho steak, which was 20 oz. of Argentinian beef, was $42.00US. Our bill for the 3 of us with tip was $207.00, but worth it!

Hubby could def polish off a 20 oz steak but for me I'm good with a smaller cut.

Think we'll probably go there for dinner since we're in Aruba until 10.

And it will be my B-Day. I want to enjoy every last second I can in Aruba.:p

I highly recommend El Gaucho's. The steaks just melt in your mouth! They have a very extensive menu. Here is the link to their website: El Gaucho - Aruba I loved that we were there until 10, so we could do this.

Jamman, part of response from cousin about the restaurant in Aruba. :)

We've actually been to El Gaucho and plan on going back next month. The food is mainly meat! and delicious....I think I had their sampler dish last time which was three different types of meat to try....guitarists walking around singing....very nice restaurant.

It's not so hard.
