How much percent do we represent onboard?

Our RCI cruises,often repositioning or transatlantic cruises have historically had large, active roll calls, so having two to three hundred registrants hasn't been unusual. Even then, however, that hardly represents more than 5 to10 percent of the passengers onboard. If you allow for a certain number of CC members who either don't register for or attend meet and mingles, the percentage is still relatively small. It certainly is small in comparison to the number of Crown and Anchor members on any given cruise.

Either do I, i always book MTD with the missus/family table only......i like to go away and relax, wind down......not really looking for new friends.

 

Although i have met some crazy people on cruises, never planned though !

 

We do MTD also and always get a table for just the two of us. We don't like to have to make small talk with strangers when we eat. We connect with other people in the various lounges on the ship and most especially in the diamond lounge. My husband with meet people at the poker table in the casino.

Alot of people just take things as they come and go with the flow.

 

Dont get me wrong I research the heck out of everything so much so its prolly borderline OCD.

 

Sometime I wish I was more of a go with the flow guy.Less stress.

 

You really want to be one of those people that come back and find out what they missed, like the dining room? Yes, someone posted once that their neighbor/friend went on a cruise and ate in the buffet every night because they didn't know there was a dining room. I find it less stressful to know what to expect. Go with the flow is not always what some proclaim it to be. For a lot of people it's a way to avoid responsibility. They also tend to be the people that are late for everything and think nothing of making others wait.

 

We take some things as they come, but things on a cruise don't come to you, you have to go to them.

 

We've met some great people on cruises in the MDR at regular seatings. We keep in touch with about 3-4 couples that we have met over the years. One couple, we have cruised with again and they have spent 3 nights at our house and we'll be cruising together again in Feb. We live about 2300 miles apart.

When I sail with my girlfriend which is into cruising as much as I am we ( sometimes )focus on some people and then we whisper " she/ he is from cruise critic". But we don't have a real way to know, we are just making it for fun and taking a guess while we are eating lunch or simply walking in the promenade.

 

How much percent do you think we represent when we fill the ships?

On one of our Cruises we chatted with a couple and their kids.

Our boys hung out together the whole cruise.

 

It wasn't until we were eating breakfast on the morning we disembarked that we realized that they were the people that I was chatting with for months on our roll call.

We talked with many frequent cruisers who have never heard of CC. This amazes me since I am a planner and want to get the most out of my vacation. Before CC we took only ship excursions or just wandered around the port. I missed a lot by going with the flow...I have learned so much about cabins, ports, ships that I can not imagine doing without CC. I suppose most of us here are a bit OCD about our vacations and planning. That does not mean I can not relax and be spontaneous on a ship. I just plan my relaxation.:)
