Please tell me about the Spa Cabins

We had a spa balcony on Magic last year, the colors of the room are different then the other cabins, they also provided a selection of shampoo and lotion that are only in spa cabins. We did not really notice much difference in the motion most of the time, my husband gets motion sickness and our usual routine (Meclazine and Ginger) worked just fine! Full access to the spa facilities used the thassolotherapy (sp) pool and the heated loungers! We did have some rough seas, as one day we were in the thasso pool and the ship was moving so much that the water in the pool was almost hitting the glass roof, I was surprised they let it stay open, but I was having fun in the wave pool!

I just got off the Magic last week and had a spa cabin. It was handicap accessible because of the need for a wheelchair and lift for my traveling companion. We felt a lot of movement up there. Even on the days that were really smooth, our bathroom door would still sway a bit when left open. I took off-brand Bonine every day twice a day and had to use wrist bands a couple of nights when it got really rough. Some days were so rough up there that you could see my companion's power wheelchair try to sway-with her out of it and it in locked position. A couple of days, the wind was blowing so hard, the spa deck was closed-they literally shut a door between the rooms and the spa deck entrances so no one could go up there. In my opinion, if you have motion sickness problems, I would suggest a room lower and more toward the middle of the ship.

We got special travel shampoo, conditioner, body wash and lotion as well as a special tiny bar of soap in the bathroom for being in a spa cabin, also a tiny bottle linen spray that smells kinda coconut-like was left on our bedside table. We also got slippers (two pair) and the special spa robes and linens-which I didn't think was a huge upgrade over the standard stuff to be honest. The beach towels were the yellow kind, not sure if they really were bigger and fluffier than the standard room ones, but they were pretty nice. The colors in the room are also different from regular rooms. We thought the beds were really uncomfortable but the steward put a comforter over the mattresses and it helped a bit.

All that said, I really enjoyed the cruise and the room that we got. Minor complaints are easy to overlook when you are having a great time. Our steward was top notch! We didn't use spa access stuff-none of the pools and stuff are wheelchair friendly at all.

Here is a video I made showing a bit about what our room looked like:

I loved my spa interior on the Splendor. We too received the plush robes, slippers, upgraded interior cabins, bed spray, pretty yellow beach towels and Elemis Shampoo and Conditioner, Shower Gel, Body Lotion, and one hand and one body Elemis Soap Disk.

We also received Two Pathway to Yoga or Pathway to Pilates fitness classes per guest and discounts on treatments in the spa.

We are looking at booking a Spa Balcony and are not sure what to expect. Sea sickness due to motion? What is the " amenities" and anything you'd like to share.

Thank you in advance

what ship. it will vary depending on the ship

we are booked on the splendor-- spa rooms were 249 more then the one on deck 7 I can purchase the spa package for that rate. so I saved the 249 and booked on deck 7

On the Magic, I did think the spa rooms felt more motion, being way up high like that. Plus, there was a lot of peculiar creaking with that ship up high. If motion is a concern, go low & midship. If you do, and if the spa access still sounds like something you want, you can purchase a pass for the week. Motion doesn't really bother me.

Others have mentioned the things that I consider to be irrelevant: the slippers, the tiny toiletry items, different decor, different color towels, 2 free classes (limited options). The Cloud 9 Spa is only on Splendor, Dream, Magic, Breeze, & Sunshine.

What mattered to me was the access to the therapy pool which is a fancy hot tub (which is not on Sunshine) & to the thermal suite, which are basically like fancy saunas of various scents & temperatures. The 1st 2 adults booked in Cloud 9 Spa rooms get access to this, plus anyone not in a spa room that purchased the pass (limited quantities). We paid an extra $100 total to move from our normal cheap interior to a Cloud 9 Spa interior on Magic. For the thermal suite & therapy pool, that was well worth it. The typical $250 pass for 2 people would be too much for me, but not for some other people. I took some pics of these features on the Magic, & posted them in my review. The link is in my signature.

I thought I would have used the spa more but I didn't. I would only take a spa cabin if it was an inexpensive upgrade. Having been in a spa cabin and realizing that I didn't spend as much time as I thought I would in the therapy pool and heated lounger, I found that, for me, it is just not worth the price tag for a weekly pass.

Thank you everyone. I just upgraded to an INT-SPA stateroom on the BREEZE. This will be my first spa room and cruising solo, I'm planning on a pampering relaxing cruise vacation. Looking forward to it. :)

This stateroom gives you private access to the spa, extra spa amenities, and unlimited access to the Thalassotherapy pool, the Thermal suite, and more. It also includes two twin beds, sitting area, some with sofa, telephone, flat-screen TV, bathroom with shower, hairdryer, two fluffy bathrobes, a safe, complimentary room service, and the Carnival Comfort Bed, including custom pillows, duvet and cover, pillowcases, and a mattress set

one deck 11 there are 4 cabins that are 1A cabins and will not get the above amenities.

THANKS. I was able to find my room on cruiselinerooms Looks like a typical interior to me, with some nicer decor and spa access. I'm happy. a Day ago I was in a regular 4c INT. Glad I called and made them an offer. I was going for the COVE and ended up with the SPA. :)

We have a spa balcony room on the 10/12 cruise from Galveston. I got this room because it was close to the Cloud 9 spa, fitness center and serenity area that we will use every day. This section of the boat and the areas we use will not have kids running around. It's somewhat private and quiet.

OK. been reading all about these Cloud 9 Spa rooms. I can't wait to board the BREEZE now. I feel like I'm cruising in 1st class. LOL

Is the spa access 24 hr or during regular spa hours? The areas that the spa cabins have access to I mean? I'm usually a late night casino player and returning back to the cabin and wind down sounds great.

Are there different types of pools? or just the one Thalassotherapy

Also, I see the photos of the "loungers" are those the heated loungers? My PVP was telling me about those and said they are extremely comfortable.

Those heated loungers on the Dream were beyond comfortable. I was totally surprised how quickly I feel asleep on one. We had a spa balcony and loved it. We spent a lot of time in the spa. DW used the huge showers in the spa rather than the little one in our cabin. I would book another in a minute.

Will they refill the shampoo/conditioner, lotion, etc if it gets low. We are booked in a spa cabin, on the Breeze, leaving this Saturday. Normally, I take my own shampoo/conditioner because they don't have conditioner in the regular staterooms but, since I am in a spa room I was thinking, maybe, I don't need to bring any. Also, how are the Elemis product - any opinions?

We had a Spa Interior on the Dream. The robes are a bit nicer but do you really use? I won't sail on a deck that high again. We had bad weather and I was really sick and being in the room - we could really feel it. Also, it was toward the front and that didn't help either.

Only book if sailing during cooler weather or you plan to spend your time in the different rooms. First time, I used the spa a lot. Second cruise with Spa access, I did not use - mostly due to ports and weather.

Just got off the dream. Interior spa cabin. Totally loved being there. Our cabin was next to the spa door deck 11. Motion was only felt one day when cool front came through and the gulf was rough but no one that I know of complained of being sick. We went to the various steam rooms and used the tile loungers. It was great. 3 decks above using the spa elevator and we were on the serenity deck with nice chairs as well as hot tub on each side. It was perfect. We had the spa robes which we wore to the spa and used our spa slippers as well. There were spa towels in our room as well the elemis products mentioned. There were 2 of us in our room so one of us took a shower in our cabin and the other used the spa shower.

Some people have said that they will refill/replace the Elemis products once. But don't count on it. They didn't do it for us. Plus, they are so incredibly tiny, you are lucky to get one use out of them, especially if you have hair of any length. The Elemis products are nothing special anyway. It's a very irrelevant part of the spa rooms. Definitely bring your own conditioner!!! You can still use the shampoo & body wash that is provided in the dispensers, like they have in all the staterooms.

We just got off the Breeze Sunday the 11th and will never get any other cabin other than on the Spa Deck. Just love the all the perks of the Cloud 9 Spa. I asked to replenish the shampoo and body wash and my room steward looked at me like I was asking for a free cruise. Don't forget to ask when you are at the spa for your free Do it yourself scrub kit. One per cabin and you get to choose what flavor scrub and herbal mix. They give you a lot and a mini mitt all in a little white cloth tote with ribbon. Never knew about it till I read it on the capers. Also if you get a massage you can get the Elemis products they recommend on Amazon much cheaper. I just purchased the Elemis Musclease Active Body Oil for $41.09 instead of the $63 they were charging.

Just booked int spa stateroom 11241:) can't wait. Do you have any pics or video of your room? Did they refill your amenities?

We stayed in a spa interior on the Breeze and loved it. The pictures show the colors, the long closet and how the tv is positioned with the bed and nightstand.

Cruising in a spa cabin on the Breeze in October - can't wait!! We've sailed the Splendor (x2), the Magic, and the Dream - all in spa cabins. My husband has that as pretty much an unwritten rule -- if it's Carnival, it must be a spa cabin...unless we're just jumping on the 3day to Ensenada!
