Need help from people who have received free cruises from casinos

Trying to figure the difference.

1) I have received and been on two cruises on ncl that were given to me free from an atlantic city casino . I only paid port and taxes which usually comes around $600/cabin two people for inside in a 7 day carribean cruise. Plus you get daily gifts from casino and the free drink card when u check in alcoholic drinks in the casino for free.

2) I just received from the same land based casino another free cruise but this time first ever was with carnival not ncl. Which I'm very happy about seeing that carnival is my preferred line. But I'm wondering is it the same as ncl free drinks etc about same price. Upgrades usually low and 3/4Th usually low rates.

3) can u still use your carnival pvp?

4) I called her to give her a heads up about the certificate which I pick up sat and she said the pack and play offer is better because it's only $50/pp and includes port charges seems odd

Thanka in advance

Yesterday booked a 7 day pack and play dextended balcony for January at $506.00. All the 8 day we wanted in January were disappearing while on the website. Will be leaving from Tampa but would have rather have done an eastern carib from another port. Only plus is we live in Tampa so just a short drive to the port.

I'm doing the free cruise from the land base casino on carnival and you have to call the special number that is on the certificate. You have to pay the port charges, taxes and so on. No free drink card for the drinks on us in the casino. Also for booking during a certain time frame, they gave me casino cash. You have offered to you between a 4 day to an 8 day and have 6 months to use the certificate. Black out dates for me were the Xmas to New Years and you can't sail to Alaska!

1) I've sailed on both NCL and Carnival casino comped cruises. The Carnival port fees and taxes are always far less than NCL. I typically, like you, pay $500 for two for NCL. On Carnival, its usually $220.

2) I've received the casino drinks on us card with each cruise on both NCL and Carnival. I actually don't use it much since we don't hang out in the casino much when cruising. Also I've done upgrades on Carnival and they are discounted. Roughly $100/person to go to the next category up.

3) You are given a cruise certificate with a number to call...I've never tried to call anyone different than what the instructions say.

4) N/A.

We have also done casino cruises with land-based casinos on both Carnival and NCL. In fact, the only 2 NCL cruises we have been on (Breakaway and Gem) were through those offers, with the Epic coming up this Christmas. We always upgrade to a large balcony ($450 pp) and the cruise came in around $1,300 for us on Epic during Christmas. (our balcony cabin is now going for $3,900!!) Get free drink card also. They also gave us a 20% discount on our second balcony cabin for our kids. We cruise during school vacations, and the prices come in way cheaper than Carnival's offers, for some reason. (even cheaper than their Premier Casino cruises - for us, at least - which is why we tried Breakaway over Freedom for the same week.) After so many Carnival cruises, we are enjoying the different shows and food on NCL.

I leave in 10 days to go on my first " free cruise" with Carnival. After the upgrade to a balcony, taxes, pre paid tips, it was $600 - for 2 people, total. We have $100 OBC total. When the PVP called me about this cruise there was no mention of the Casino. So after I booked I contacted the Players Club to see if we had any casino cash coming our way.

From the first cruise to the second I had $75 casino cash and DH had $125. On the 2nd cruise we spent way more money in the casino. They said the " free cruise" was all I was getting. But like I said, the PVP never mentioned the casino when she called.

I have read some post similar to this one and people have said to go to the cage when I get onboard to see if I have a drink cards or cash anyways. Wish me luck!

  • 3 weeks later...

Wanted to let you guys know that once I got onboard I went to the casino and asked if I had any comps. They told me to come back in an hour and they would check. My name wasn't on a list but they gave me $50. Nothing for my husband.

Got our offer from Carnival Player's Club. You can find the offers under the VIFP 'offers' tab when they are available. It is a 7 day on the Glory 1/10. Total paid was $375 with a $100 obc for inside room (could pick one all the way to lido deck). The drinks are dependent on how much you spend in the Casino. We usually get them.

Just got back from a "free" 7 day trip on Magic offered through a land based Casino in Lake Charles. We paid a total of $191.00 for taxes and port fees. We were not given a free drink card and I failed to ask for one. None the less I had enough points early in the second day to get one.

They did not offer any casino cash. I sent an email and they informed me that since I was on a free trip there wouldn't be any available. My wife rec'd an email informing her she had $25. On the second day of the trip we went to the casino for my wife to claim her money. I decided to ask if I had anything and boom, they hand me $300. Again, it never hurts to ask.
