Quantum_Main Pool

I really liked the main pool area...there are actually 2... one is enclosed...I also thought the movie screen placement was a good spot...

Oh and by the way...no worries about chair hogs on this sailing....LOL

Notice North Star right above the Sky Bar...also unlike other classes of ship Sky Bar and Pool Bar are on the same deck...Pool Bar is near the enclosed Pool area right behind the Sky Bar...

Quantum_Dedication of H2O Zone

The dedication of the Beautiful H20 Zone took place on embarkation day. Gloria and one of the Penguin Brothers were on hand for the ceremony as were all the Big Wigs and RCCL also had the past and present Ship Captains on board this sailing

The stage raised area where you see the shade over hang thing (on the right by the hot tub) is where we were standing to take most of the pics at the H2O dedication...it looks like it may normally be the pool bandstand area...

For anyone who likes to do the FlashMobs this would be a fun activity...a Michael Jackson Thriller Show.

I hope they do it on our Oasis July cruise as my sisters love to participate in the Flash Mob...I am usually the videographer...

Thanks to cruiser Hoopster95 for posting the video...the video is at the very end but I thought the pics and commentary were worth posting as well

The weather wasn't all that great the first 4-5 days of the cruise, today day 3 was no exception. I hadn't really sat and relaxed yet these first 3 days so I made a point of it today that I would chill out in Solarium a bit if I could. I now had the opportunity to take of few more shots in daylight that may show the space better than my nighttime shots I took at sailaway.

This piece of art at the top of the cascading pools was really interesting... as you viewed it at different angles when you moved around it, it seemed to change a bit, an obvious illusion

DSC01880_zpsc2cabe03.jpg

DSC01881_zpsed8f59ee.jpg

For a good portion of the cruise the bottom pool of the three was roped off. The movement of the ship was creating huge waves in there! The top pool had the least movement, the middle pool had some waves going on that were both fun and felt good. Ended up spending a bit of time in that second pool enjoying the view and speaking with several cruisers coming in and out, including a newly made friend Deandra. Deandra was the guest Zumba instructor, ended up hanging out with her and hubby Marshall a couple of evenings at Boleros, very cool couple. I even went to her last two Zumba classes... overflow about 50 people in the Music Hall! Cheers to you two, hope we cross paths again someday

DSC01882_zpsa497fce2.jpg

And lastly these hot-tubs are THE BEST with a beautiful unobstructed view facing forward.

DSC01883_zpsc411fd20.jpg

After a couple of hours of hot-tubbing and hanging out in the pool, is was time to get ready for the first Michael Jackson "Thriller" practice in the Music Hall. Overall over the week we had 4 practices of an hour long each and performed the final day in the Music Hall. We had a ton of fun doing this.

It's up on YouTube so I may as well post the link now for you to enjoy if you wish and I'll repeat the link on day 11 as well.

LOL!!!!! Guess which zombie is me hehe

Quantum_H2O Zone (Kiddie Pool) Rules

If you need to prepare for taking you lil kiddies into th epool see the rules in the picture below...I believe kids and adults will have a ball in this pool but we need to keep everyone safe...

Just below Northstar is the outdoor pool deck. On the few real sunny days we had it was overflowed. 80% of the tanning loungers are on deck 15 around the jogging track and to the back of the ship, so the pool is quite small for the number of passengers (it's just like Radiance Class). I thought the placement of the big screen was great, and much better than the original plan (would've looked horrible imho)

For those parents reading this review, here's the pool rules for you and your kids

Quantum_Aft eating area/secret stairs/Felicia

Cruiser Hoopster gives us some great tips about a wonderful place to eat and then some secret stairs to a great place for sailaway and then some info on Felicia...

While I was the first one out to the aft area for lunch, it actually quickly started to get used by other cruisers. I snapped this shot before going up those stairs in this photo... remember these stairs as they can help you later

DSC01366_zps0cc037b5.jpg

Up these stairs you find this... gorgeous seating area behind the Florider with unobstructed views, perfect for sailaways, sunsets, lunch when the seating below is full (hint hint), and easy access up to Seaplex. Gotta love that Manhattan skyline in the background!

DSC01369_zps600ea991.jpg

Turning towards the front of the ship, there was a line forming of about 15 people at IFly/Ripcord. They were all from the previous cruise and knew that you had to pre-book time slots else you won't get on! I know of many who waited until the last 3 sea days to book and didn't end up experiencing this. For the record I did it 3 times over the course of this cruise, IFly is a 110% MUST-DO activity. I got in line right away and waited for them to open, spot on right at 12 noon as promised. I was booked for the next day after our M&M and cabin crawl... all good! But before taking any pics of IFly I was drawn forward by the iconic "Felicia" the Pink Bear... actually this art pieced is called "From Afar"

DSC01373_zpsb4713f88.jpg

DSC01374_zps6be0a4e7.jpg

And it's pretty damn big, bigger than I thought! (I'm 5'11")

Great pics of a Bumper Cars session...we actually never got to ride as there just wasn't enough time...

And I have a pic of that wall clock in the last photo below....I too thought it was quite interesting...looks like a huge wrist watch but is really a clock...too cool...

I had noted on the Compass that the Bumper Cars were to be running today, so right after the Thriller Class I made my way up to the Seaplex to enjoy the fun. I arrived to see this... note the line-up folks and do the math (approx 16 cars, maybe 5-6 minutes each time to load/ride/unload, easily over 100 in line waiting around the perimeter...

Yep, WHAT A FAILURE! It will never be popular. Who would ever go to a Seaplex on a ship? Who would EVER want to ride bumper cars on a cruise ship?!? I will never sail RCL again! LOL!!!

DSC01896_zps4035fb2e.jpg

DSC01897_zpsefa3035e.jpg

Tell you what... Not one person did I see get out of a car with a frown or complaining that it was a waste of time. Better yet, you usually get a couple of guys who hit each once and then they have a rivalry the entire time out there so they target each other, lol! Hilarious. Then they banter back and forth for everyone to hear. Funny stuff

DSC01914_zpse29d408f.jpg

DSC01913_zps928335b3.jpg

This is not a close up of a watch, it's the clock that's hanging at the end of one of the Seaplex walls. I just thought it was interesting and I hadn't seen a photo of it before.... now you've seen it too
