Plenty of hangers in the closet! For me, anyway. Thanks!

LOL....:p

probably for most people the ones provided are plenty but for me and Sis on a seven day with different dinner outfits for each day and jeans and other hangup clothes we found that we usually needed more...and don't let three of us share...OMG we would need them to bring in a rollaway closet...LOL

Quantum_Balcony Cabin 12194 additional storage

more drawers over by the desk and this is also where the fridge is which is actually just a cooler...BTW they now have a lock on the fridge/cooler so not sure if you can even put your own items in there or not...perhaps someone else knows

instructions on how to unlock it is on the door (see next pic) but we didn't even try to unlock it....we usually have water stored in there and I have to drink cranberry juice when I travel which is sometimes hard to find so we usually bring some...we kinda forgot about the fridge as we didn't really need it for this two day...

I think I have seen 3 different Inside Virtual Balcony set ups pics posted on CC...this one has an interesting set up...

DW did iFly this morning and loved it. We are in an Interior Virtual Balcony – category N #8133 – forward thought I would post a couple of pics of it. This is our first inside and I would not have a problem booking one of these again.

News about the Internet service on Quantum and all you can do with the new service

this is wonderful news and I hope they roll out this service Fleetwide...

Lou really enjoying the review. Just curious, how is the Internet on the ship? I know so far the reviews have said it's been dreadful so hoping for improvement before I report live from Q in April :)

Sent from my Samsung Galaxy Note 4 via Tapatalk

Defiantly NOT dreadful. We have the premium package (not premium plus) and we've called home via Skype 2 times daily. We've done a Facetime video chat with our Granddaughter and we did a Facetime tour of the ship for my son and his fiancé. Uploaded some pics to flickr so I can post here, speed was fast, I'm more than happy with the Internet speeds I've been getting...

Quantum Temp Control in Cabin

Let's talk about that temperature control.

This is a very long one but please bare with me as it may help someone.....

When we arrived back to the cabin the first night the temperature was on 58. It was quite chilly in the cabin so we turned the thermostat to 79. By the time we were ready for bed cabin temp had not moved. So we put some of our clothes on over our Jammie's and robes. We also put on our wool hats and scarves and there were extra comforters and blankets in the cabin for the sofa bed so we used those as well.

But OMG!!!! Me and Sis froze our buns off that first night!!! Our beds were by the balcony (as opposed to the sofa bed by the balcony and the beds by the bathroom). Sis chose the closest bed to the balcony but she didn't sleep in that bed that first night. She slept on the sofa bed.

There was so much cold air coming from the balcony that the curtains were moving. We could hear the wind rustling. It was FREEZING in the cabin. All I could think was I ain't use to being cold like this while cruising and with it only being a 2 day cruise to no where I don't even have a Caribbean beach to look forward to. Dang!!!!!

We woke up about 6am and the cabin was still very very cold. The temperature in the cabin had only gone up to about 62. By this point we believed that there was a problem so I headed down to guest services.

The guest services attendant said something about someone forgetting to make it possible for us to control the temperature of our cabin. I wasn't sure what that meant but she assured me that it would be taken care of. I stopped for coffee at La Patisserie (which is near Guest Services) and by the time I got back up to the cabin the service person had already been through and talked to Sis.

Evidently when we opened the balcony door when we arrived that day we didn't lock it back. If you don't lock the door back you cannot use the thermostat to control the temperature in the cabin. Additionally, the air we were hearing was from the door not being completely shut.

Hmmmm. Ok, so we froze all night simply because the Smart Ship knew that the balcony door was not closed all the way. That is great for RCCL in their going GREEN efforts but we sure would appreciate it if for those of us not as smart can somebody get the Smart Ship to actually tell us that is the case. You know sort of like what Siri does. Tell you when you're wrong. Lol. Me and Sis still have a good laugh about that one.

Hopefully you can read the pics below. One says unoccupied and the other says occupied. So what guest services was saying was that they had not changed our cabin to being an occupied room so that we could control the temperature. But at this point we don't know whether she was right or the service attendant was right. As a matter fact we believe both may have been right. Just beware. :D.

Quantum_Directional Sinage

For newbies don't worry there's plenty of signage to help you navigate on all RCCL ships and it gets better with each class of ship.

They also have pocket maps currently in Guest Services but I know after a while they run out of them on the ships and don't seem to replenish them...

There's a sign in the cabin that mentions the fact that the HVAC system will not function with the door open. This is not new for Quantum. Other RCI ships and other cruise lines have this interlock system. If you want heat or AC, ensure that the balcony door is completely closed.

What is fairly new is the ships ability to cut off certain cabins from HVAC controls remotely even with the balcony door interlock functioning properly.

So if you are sure that your balcony door is completely closed but your HVAC is still not working, time to involve guest services.

Hi Biker19: thanks for that info....can you please tell us where this sign is as we have never seen it before.....

FYI: We actually had our balcony door in the locked position and thought it was closed tight.

Entrance to Devinly Decadence is in the Solarium...I think it is a great idea that they have included sinks and areas to wash your hands before you enter the dining areas...hopefully people will use them
