Lunch on embarkation day

Are there any restaurants open for lunch on embarkation day other than the buffet?

Main dining room is open to 1-Star+ Mariners Noon-ish to 2-ish depending upon the ship.

As Bear said, the dining room is normally open to anyone who has sailed on any ship in the Carnival Corporation family.

 

But that "normally" can be adjusted upward to higher ranking Mariners if the cruise is top-heavy with them. The dining room can also be closed to private parties on occasion.

 

Head there, and see what happens.

 

The Dive In (hamburger grill) is also open.

We have sailed with Holland America before, so we'll try the MDR first. If not available, The Dive sounds like a good Plan B. Thanks!

Can Marniers bring people on their first HAL cruise with them to the embarkation lunch in the MDR? We will have family with us who will be on their first cruise and it would be nice to kick off our cruise together this way.

Yes you can bring 1st time cruisers to the embarkation lunch. If the star Mariner just asks for a table for X, that should be all that is necessary.
