jrgrays Posted December 1, 2014 #1 Share Posted December 1, 2014 We recently returned from the Carnival Breeze which had the Lady A concert in Cozumel and also hosted the BlackJack Tourney which I had a seat in. The boat was CROWDED to the max, everything was a line you were unable to walk in the casino every single night the Craps table was packed there was pretty much a waiting line to play and there were two ppl to everyone one person spot. Caused so much confusion for the dealers and they didn't know who made what bets. This was the first Carnival Cruise where I have ever experienced issues with my room and steward as well. The bed linen was never changed we had beach sand from the second day which was when we went to key west and it stayed there till the last. One day we used the robe and my wife and I had a little fun and left the robe with the dirty towels wrapped up as in take me I'm dirty and the steward picked it up and placed it in the closet with the rest of our clean stuff. I have went on six cruises with carnival and have never had service this bad. Out of the six days on ship I never met my steward not once and I'm use to them walking up making a introduction and getting to know a little bit about you. Or even acknowledge you in the hall on passing by but this was not done either.

I have noticed on both cruises and in hotels that they do not change the beds daily anymore, but your situation was definitely an extreme. As you said, I've never had service that bad on Carnival either. Did you mention it to anyone on the ship or at Carnival?
momonthego17 Posted December 2, 2014 #3 Share Posted December 2, 2014 My family of four just finished our Thanksgiving cruise on the Breeze and we had a wonderful room steward, not in your face but kept our room neat (4 people in a cove balcony) and ice available every time we got back to the room. Any towels left on the floor were changed out and my bed was clean and comfy. Crowd-wise, I hardly ever waited for an elevator, especially a concern coming from Deck 2. I picked up pizza from Pizza Pirate quickly and drink service was fine. Can't comment on the casino, but I noticed it was busy in there. I'm sorry you had a bad experience. I hope your next cruise is better.
Ladderlieu29 Posted December 2, 2014 #4 Share Posted December 2, 2014 Must be a matter of luck or something as I was on the same cruise and never felt crowded at all. My wife and I are not casino people so we avoided that area entirely. We never found much for lines, and the lines we did find moved along fairly quickly. Room steward was pretty good as well. Introduced himself on the first day and greeted us regularly throughout the cruise. Our cabin was always cleaned and dirty linens were replaced any time they were left on the floor. Our only complaint was the weather, but Carnival has no control over that!
cuccicruisers Posted December 2, 2014 #5 Share Posted December 2, 2014 I was also on the lady a cruise and our group felt the ship was half full. I guess it depends on where you want to be. We did not spend a lot of time in the casino but it did appear busy in there. Loved our steward and dining staff. Agree the weather was lacking but it did not stop us from any of our plans. near the beach Posted December 2, 2014 #6 Share Posted December 2, 2014 The bed sheets are not changed every day. Just between cruises. They just make the beds. If you need to have the sheets replaced you can call your cabin steward or tell them in the hall way. We did not have any problems on the Breeze with crowds or anything else. That is way we are sailing on the Breeze again in March.
jrgrays Posted December 2, 2014 Author #7 Share Posted December 2, 2014 This was a first for me as far as the room goes, I did make a comment not a complaint to guest services. I'm typically not a person to complain much very easy going. I never had ice even though we asked for it on a number of occasions. I think we just had a ****ty steward some folks down the hall from us had some issues as well that were not addressed. I think that the crowd in the casino was mostly driven by the tournaments as this was identified as a cruise for the gamblers. I also filled out the survey and as of yesterday received a email stating that I had a balance of $39.00 which was strange.
jrgrays Posted December 2, 2014 Author #8 Share Posted December 2, 2014 On another note I must say that I enjoyed leaving out of Miami, we did stay in a fancy hotel in Hollywood The Diplomat and had the chance to see D-Wade of the Heat. I also like the variety of ports that are accessible from there compared to leaving from New Olreans. You have to take a 7-day from there in order to get some good ports. We will be leaving out of Florida area more often.

We are on the Lido on the 28th so I hope you were not on that floor. Too bad you didn't have a good steward.
jrgrays Posted December 2, 2014 Author #10 Share Posted December 2, 2014 Room 7326 and my brother was next door 7330, like I said it was a first I have been on cruises where the steward might not be as nice but would at least acknowledge you by name and let you know I'm the person that is taking care of your room. My mother in law was around the corner from us in 7331 and they had no issues, ice every day all the good stuff...
Kim_KS Posted December 2, 2014 #11 Share Posted December 2, 2014 We were on the same cruise and we had a great room steward! I will agree that the casino was crowded due to the tournament and being a Premier Casino Cruise. I think they could have done better to handle that. But otherwise, the ship did not feel crowded at all and we had a great time!

Mr305 Posted December 2, 2014 #13 Share Posted December 2, 2014 I too was on the Breeze Thanksgiving cruise and the room steward was excellent, kept the room super clean. Like others have stated, they don't change your bedding unless you request it. I've done so in the past in past cruises and they've taken care of it right away. Zero complaints about the Breeze staff, found everyone to be helpful and social. The staff at the coffee shop always went the extra mile to make sure the coffee was to our liking. Ladderlieu29 Posted December 3, 2014 #14 Share Posted December 3, 2014 How was the Concert. Just booked Rascal Flatts on the Breeze for next May. I thought the concert was outstanding. I only wish they could have stayed longer. Horseshoe shaped venue. We were front row on the second level and had an excellent view. Twice they went into the audience on the lower level and brought enthusiastic kids on stage to sing with them. They even allowed the parents to come to the stage to video tape and/or take photos. Every performance will probably be somewhat different. This was my first concert in a "small" venue and I loved it!

jrgrays Posted December 3, 2014 Author #16 Share Posted December 3, 2014 I did get the change to meet Lady A, we were leaving the fat Tuesday right at the port and saw these white vans pull up and they were checking in with Security and getting ready to drive up towards the ship so my wife was waving like crazy and she opened the door and spoke... that was pretty cool
