I would just add that when we make a contribution, we go to the reception desk to do so. The contributions need to be made in cash; they cannot be charged to your room or a credit card..at least that has been our experience.

 

Actually that is not exactly accurate. Although you cannot use your shipboard credits if you have any, it can certainly be charged to your shipboard account and will be settled against the credit card you presented upon embarkation. I just did this on the Whisper this week.

Don't understand how the posts have developed into a "tipping" thread as 2015 SS brochure clearly states on page 169 "Gratuities".......All service gratuities are included in your cruise fare.
