Just show up at the pier and let them know that he/she will not be traveling.
mykeb14 Posted January 20, 2015 #3 Share Posted January 20, 2015 Please keep in mind you would not get a refund for that person.

Ok, but what will happen if I dont let them know? My husband is the one I am questioning.....when we booked the cruise we got a killer rate but it was based on him sailing. It was some kind of VIFP offer. If he doesnt get to go, the other 2 guests rates will go up.
mykeb14 Posted January 20, 2015 #5 Share Posted January 20, 2015 I would call his PVP and talk with them to be sure.

I'd make these arrangements in advance to avoid risking a denied boarding. I only say this because you mentioned the deal being tied to his VIFP status. ManyMore Posted January 20, 2015 #8 Share Posted January 20, 2015 You just go to the pier and check in and tell them he is sick he can't make it. At that point nothing will change you just won't get him money back. Your rate won't change. I see this all the time when I am working.

I have a similar situation, in that we booked 3 to a cabin, one being my daughter's boyfriend who now will not be traveling with us. I did not want to cancel him because I did not want them to bump us possibly to another cabin because there are now only 2 of us. So if, when we check in, we just tell them he is not able to make it, then will I be refunded his port fees and taxes? I know we will not get his fare back, and that is ok. But since it was all paid on my card, will they refund the port fees and taxes to me later or will I get them as OBC immediately?
JustKeri86 Posted January 20, 2015 #11 Share Posted January 20, 2015 You can print separate boarding passes, show up and say he's delayed. Board and then tell them later he isn't able to make it. You could always call your PVP and check what would happen, but once you board I don't think they can charge you more. mouche Posted January 20, 2015 #12 Share Posted January 20, 2015 (edited) I would call to be sure as you booked under his special rate, I don't think there would be a problem as he would just loose his cruise fare, but it seems like I read somewhere that the person who the offer was given must travel to get that rate. I would call to be sure!!! Edited January 20, 2015 by mouche
