You would have to let them know. Just show up at the pier and let them know that he/she will not be traveling.

Ok, but what will happen if I dont let them know? My husband is the one I am questioning.....when we booked the cruise we got a killer rate but it was based on him sailing. It was some kind of VIFP offer. If he doesnt get to go, the other 2 guests rates will go up.

Is the offer under his name? If it is, you could be denied boarding at the pier. Call your PVP or Travel Agent to be sure.

Exactly. I'd make these arrangements in advance to avoid risking a denied boarding. I only say this because you mentioned the deal being tied to his VIFP status.

You just go to the pier and check in and tell them he is sick he can't make it. At that point nothing will change you just won't get him money back. Your rate won't change. I see this all the time when I am working.

You night get back his port fees.

I have a similar situation, in that we booked 3 to a cabin, one being my daughter's boyfriend who now will not be traveling with us. I did not want to cancel him because I did not want them to bump us possibly to another cabin because there are now only 2 of us. So if, when we check in, we just tell them he is not able to make it, then will I be refunded his port fees and taxes? I know we will not get his fare back, and that is ok. But since it was all paid on my card, will they refund the port fees and taxes to me later or will I get them as OBC immediately?

You can print separate boarding passes, show up and say he's delayed. Board and then tell them later he isn't able to make it. You could always call your PVP and check what would happen, but once you board I don't think they can charge you more.

I would call to be sure as you booked under his special rate, I don't think there would be a problem as he would just loose his cruise fare, but it seems like I read somewhere that the person who the offer was given must travel to get that rate. I would call to be sure!!!
