... Why don't we just pray for the well-being of the good people in New Orleans? It seems that whenever someone posts a question (me included), I get chewed out.

That is our point. Let's worry about the people who live in the effected area and not a future cruise.

On the same note, instead of people expecting the members of Cruise Critic to be Nastrodamus and asking where they will cruise from and "what will happen if"... why not spend THAT time praying for the people as well, and realize that NONE of us know what is going to happen as far as cruise schedules go... As it stands now, New Orleans and the surrounding areas will be UNINHABITABLE for several weeks... so it is likely that Carnival will be sailing those ships out of other ports for a while.

Could it be because you have asked 50 questions? Relax & enjoy your cruise. Sometimes overthinking & overplanning lead to disappointments. :D

... I'm going to just lurk on these boards for a while and take a break from asking questions. :o

Em, ask questions!! That is what this board is for!! It might help to try to condense your questions whenever possible... but during this time when there is alot of uncertainty, spend some time reading reviews in the review section, and searching on the Sensation... I did that before my first time on the Sensation and got a lot of information!! But when you cannot find the info you need, ask! That is what the board is for!!!! Just try to relax... I know you have been very stressed about this cruise, and I'm sure this has stressed you more... but just realize there is nothing you can do at this point and stressing out will not help you, so try to relax if you can... Carnival may not have information available until Tues/Wed... so just stay calm ...

I am so praying for those people. This has been the storm that they have been dreading for years. I watched Fox News but and they talked about the cars parked under the Superdome not being there when they get out. Scary. What a beautiful city. God bless everyone there and in the surrounding areas. It appears that Mississippi will fare worse than New Orleans due the wind shear on the right quadrant and the storm surge. The casinos will probably be gone in Biloxi/Gulfport. They have to be built on the water. The hotels are on dry land but the casinos on barges. EEEK!!

I am so praying for New Orleans....We had a wonderful visit with friends prior to our cruise in May...Now they are sitting here...

They know they are literally SUNK...I cannot help but cry for them..I think I fed 1/2 of New Orleans today...and sent some for tomorrow. They're glued to the TV here, watching...

Bless them all...

Group Hug and Group Prayer.

I've been watching this all day and my heart is breaking for all those in the path of this nightmare storm.

My hubby and I were in NO just 4 weeks ago. We fell madly in love. Because we were there, we booked our first cruise out of there. We had been trying to decide what to do for our 10th anniversary. We've also been thinking of moving there.

I keep thinking about the wonderful locals we met. I look at my beautiful painting that I bought from a wonderful man in Jackson Sqaure. I think of the history, the gorgeous old buildings etc etc etc. It's really breaking my heart and I was only there for 4 days!!

My heart is breaking for those who live there, who had to walk away from it all and my prayers are going out to those who stayed there.

It made me cry when the mayor said "take a good look at the city as you leave, it will not be the same when you return."

I SO hope and pray for a miracle.

God Bless them all.

And ask away! No one may know the answer, as we are in a kind of "wait and see" pattern. But I have no doubt in my mind that all future cruises will be fine.

A miracle is just what will be needed here. My heart breaks for all of those standing in line to find shelter. We have so much room here and wish we could share our home to those in need. Lots of prayers and help with money later will be all we can do to make it better for them. We lost our home 2 years ago in a tornado. Our entire neighborhood was wiped out in a matter of minutes. We were lucky to have a basement to take shelter in. We lost everything we owned but we still have our lives and the friendship of those who helped us in the aftermath. God bless...we will pray for your safety.

The Red Cross is requesting donations... they are going to need ALOT of money, ALOT!!!! Every little bit will help... they are estimating close to 1M people will be displaced. The next few weeks will be crucial in getting aid into the affected areas... we may not be able to do anything right now, but we can give a little to those in need. Lots of great members here will be deeply affected... https://www.redcross.org/donate/donation-form.asp

I hope everyone is safe. I'm talking to my friend 45 minutes South of New Orleans. They tried to leave this morning, but sat in traffic for four hours, and went back home. They didn't want to be stuck on the highway all night and then have the storm hit. They are luckily above sea level and are just worried about winds and flooding.

Chuck,

Thanks for that info. I also have noticed some extreme rudeness on some of the posts. Don't feel bad about asking questions. People should be free to ask questions without fear of rudeness from others.

An old saying: If you can't say anything nice, maybe you shouldn't say anything at all!!!

Always glad to answer questions. That is why we are here....to share our experiences & knowlegde of cruising. But some people ask questions & get unhappy if they are not answered immediatley or they don't get the answer they want to hear.

I hope all our friends in the path of the storm will be safe & that damage will be minimal so we can all cruise out of & enjoy Nola again soon. I was just there 2 weeks ago visiting CC friends & I love that town. :D

Since only God can spare lives and help all of these people, let's all just pray hard for them and that they got those without transportation out of there also. None of us who have never had it happen to us can imagine what these poor people will be going through. I love to cruise as much as anyone, but right now, my thoughts and prayers are with all of these people. They even have to worry about loved ones buried there because they are all buried above ground! I came home from St. Petersburg today & feel very fornuate that we were spared there, but that doesn't lessen my thoughts of NOLA people & all of the other places in the path of this storm. Even TN will be getting some of the remnants of it.

I am fairly new to this board and may ask alot of questions. Some of which I know have probably been asked before and some might be tired of answering. But not being computor savy, have a hard time looking and doing the search thing for the answer.

I also have very dear friends that live in Biloxi and they have choose to stay. Her parents are not able to travel and they made a very hard choice not to try. Prior to this hitting this morning they gave us all the personal information we might need if something happens. It has been a very hard day for all of us. If we know anyone in the area or not.

My point being sometimes we just need to think or try to think about something else. Getting our mind off of it if possible. And in my case I have sat here thinking and planning my cruise in September. Asking questions, trying to find out information. Some of us just go about things a different way. At this point I think we all need to PRAY for all of those that will be affected. All the way up to the north east.

This storm is not just a NOLA event. NOLA is my favorite weekend getaway spot and is sure to get a terrible hit from Katrina but I'm also worried about everyone in it's path further up north. Weather Channel last night was saying that tropical storm forces winds will last all the way up north and into Pennsylvania with torrential rains possible.

Much of the south in on sand...we can absorb a heck of a lot more rain that the northern states...1"-2" will do northern cities in on a good day. If you live up north in the path of this storm please heed the warnings for your local areas....don't let your guard down with Katrina.

Good luck NOLA and surrounding areas all our thoughts are with you today!
