Show times

Just looking for opinions here so please don't tell me to try another cruise line. When I first started cruising shows were always after dinner for both early and late seatings. Now, shows for late seating are usually pre-dinner except for first night and formal nights. We much prefer the later time since we like to have time before dinner to relax or nap after a day at he pool or in port. A cruise should be a relaxing experience, not a race from one venue to another. Obviously, the cruise lines do this to get people out of their staterooms to spend money. They would prefer to have passengers in the casino or in the shops after dinner rather than sitting in the theater. Also, the few late shows were scheduled at 10:30 pm which is too early for late seating. On the first night, which is always a hassle in the MDR, we arrived at the show just in time for the last song. On the other two nights, we hd to skip desert to get to the theater in time to get good seats. Again, a cruise should not be a track meet!

I'm not really sure what kind of "opinions" you are looking for. The show times are what they are and most likely won't change unless the format of evening dinners on Celebrity ships depart from a two MDR dinner settings. They are designed to accommodate the early or late dinner seating in the MDR. My past two cruises were in Blu so it was easy to go to an early show, stop by the martini bar for a drink, and still arrive to dinner at Blu for 8:30-9:00 pm when it wasn't crowded. Something similar could be done in Select dining section of the MDR if you are not an Aqua stateroom guest.

This schedule works for me, but isn't for all. You could flip it and do an early Select time (or Blu) dinner and then go to the late show.

I don't remember late dining going to the show after dinner on first night, my experience is the shows are after dining on the formal dinings. I guess if you have a late departure that would happen. We did also have the show after dinner ***** silhouette when they had the big production shows and there were three of them.

I guess we could say everything is what it is and stop posting on these boards.

You obviously missed the entire point of my thread.

Sailed on Equinox 1/23/15. First night show was at 10:30 pm for late dinner. Problem on first night is showing everyone to their tables. Long long lines going into MDR!
