Hi...we are in a RS and departing tomorrow. the ship docks at 7am and we have nowhere to go but to the MIA airport for a 1pm departure. I figured we'd be the last ppl off the ship. When is that?

Also, is there any reason t pack tonight and put our bags out...we have 3 and can wheel them ourselves, but the butler also escorts us off the ship.

I plan on packing around 9am tomorrow, leaving around 10am. Any input?

Although our butler ands stateroom attendants always say that we can stay in our suite as long as possible, we always try to leave as early as possible even if we are going to hang around on the ship for some time.

They will not start to make up your suite until you have left. [We have tried telling them that we have packed everything and are just leaving our bags while we go for breakfast and will not disturb anything when we return but we are still hampering them from getting on with their work.

Change-over day is really hard work for crew. The people embarking will be keen to get into their suite as you were when you embarked. Guests are asked to be out of their rooms by 8:30am. IMHO, it is totally unfair to not start packing until 9:00am on disembarkation day. Unless there are any Immigration or Customs hold-up, everyone should be off the ship before 10:00am.

Even with suite priority, disembarkation followed by getting a taxi for the airport will take longer than you imagine. Just go with the flow.

Well, we unintentionally overslept and we're woken w a call from the butler at 9:45am. We asked him to come back in 15 mins. We did pack in 15 mins. Abt 10:00 the ship made an announcement that all pax should get off. Then the concierge came to our room as did the butler and the steward, which was great, because we got to give them an extra tip which we really wanted to do.

The butler and the steward wheeled our luggage down to their exit and we were scanned out. We were the last people off the ship, so there were no lines. When we got off the ship, we were also the last ppl to go thru immigration, which took two minutes. The only long line we confronted was the taxi line. Being only half awake, we cut it thru an opening at the front (unintentionally), but then continued to maintain our position as we were called for a taxi by the dispatcher, but looking back, that line could have been 30 mins or longer. Lesson there is arrange for a car and driver. I didn't get to shower...part of the price of oversleeping, but will shower at the AC at the airport.

I wish we had woken at 9:30 and done all this in a more relaxed way, but that's what happened.

Did you get the Red Suite tags for your disembarkation luggage? 2 weeks ago on Summit this was new, and our suite bags were in bag claim in a special area, so wee could get them any time we wanted, early or late. I say use this if offered (ask Michael's concierge) so you don't have to tug all your bags around. Also, just stick them at Michaels club in the morning and do your tour. I'd say pack 1 or 2 bags anyway to just not have to lug them around.

Typically it's the Michaels' concierge that escorts suite guests off the ship, not Butler. Recent reports even have the concierge taking people in some ports direct to a customs agent, bypassing the various lines (forget if it was MIA or FLL). Not sure if butler has this authority.

On summit, we lounged in Michael's until "last call" which was 9:45 am, and the concierge escorted the rest of us off the ship, they seemed to want it empty by 10 am.

I'm not a morning person, and don't make the clear the room call by 8 am, but do try to be out by 9 or so.
