Verizon service roaming or not

should be true as it's a us territory. however, make sure that you're on the land towers, not the ships signal. they should turn off the ship's signal while in port / close to port, just make sure that's so while you're connected to prevent charges

In San Juan, Verizon customers get their signal through local provider Claro. The system works just as if you're in the US mainland with ZERO roaming charges, but your phone will say Extended Network since it's not Verizon's network. Some people unfamiliar with this agreement with Claro get spooked and don't use their phones when they see the Extended Network message thinking that they can't get an "in-network" signal, but rest assured that you won't incur any extra charges.

I travel to Puerto Rico every couple of months and I have a Verizon phone. I've never been charged any roaming charges and the signal is strong all over the island. Enjoy!
