Recent Oasis/Allure cruisers: any issues booking specialty restaurants?

Recommended Posts

Hello all recent Oasis and Allure cruisers, hoping you can answer a question for me.

I've seen reviews and posts recently saying people are having problems booking specialty restaurants once on board - that they're filled to capacity. I've never had issues booking last minute in the past. I'm on Oasis in a couple of weeks, and I'm not booking anything ahead of time because I have a bunch of OBC I want to use for the specialty restaurants.

We have no scheduling issues (not doing any shows) and we like eating late, so we don't mind going to dinner at 9pm. Most of the time it will only be the 2 of us, and a couple of times we'll have our 2 (older) kids with us.

Do any of you recent Oasis or Allure cruisers who did specialty restaurants think I'll have any problems booking specialty restaurants once on board?

Thanks in advance!!!

We were on Allure a month ago and had no problem booking a reservation for Chops. We booked it literally the second we got on the boat though. Ironically, we booked Izumi ahead of time since you don't have to pay for it ahead of time since its a la carte, and they "lost" our reservation and we weren't able to go.

In January on Oasis we did a couple booking on board and the only issue was shifting one of them a half hour. It was available a half hour before and a half hour after the time we wanted. So with a little flexibility no problem.

Just off 2/21 Oasis and had no trouble booking Giovanni's and Chops. Booked them both the day we boarded. Chops seems to be the most popular and noticed it looked full every time we passed by. We tried to book the Izumi Hibachi Grill around midweek, but it was completely booked for the rest of the week. Chops and Giovanni's we're great, by the way.
