Getting a private table in the diningroom

Pardon me for butting in but this is my first Carnival cruise. I'm not sure we'd enjoy sharing a table either. Is it likely or unlikely for a family of 5 to be seated with others?

About 50/50 really. Your best option if you want a table all your own is Your Time Dining. Then you can request a table nightly and ask to be seated at your own table.

I understand exactly. This will be a special cruise for my husband and I and it is extremely important for us to be able to sit at a table to ourselves. Of course, my husband grew up on cruising and loves doing traditional dining just for the nostalgia factor. I'm hoping to get lucky with talking to the Maitre D on embarkation day.
