longhorn2004 Posted April 20, 2015 #1 Share Posted April 20, 2015 One of the locals state their plans for a pier, but away from downtown. There is political pressure from downtown shop owners to stop the plans because of it. With four to seven ships calling a GC a day, the smart money would be to build a pier quick. bookbabe Posted April 20, 2015 #2 Share Posted April 20, 2015 I anticipate a cruise ship pier in Grand Cayman being finished the same year the Toronto Maple Leafs win the Stanley Cup. :D;) Meaning, hopefully in my lifetime, but I'm not going to hold my breath... buffy24 Posted April 21, 2015 #3 Share Posted April 21, 2015 From the weeks we have spent in Grand Cayman, I have gotten the impression that there are a lot of locals against building a pier anywhere on the island.
