see other side of island, stop for photos, downtown shopping. Really would like to design our own but with a guide. Does anyone have any recommendations, Some of the tours sound very nice, but not interested in some of the stops:eek:

I can save you a lot of research. We always use Cresencio Lopez. He has driven us many times. He is a really sweet, older man. He has a very nice van and he is very reliable. If you email him, he will be glad to give you a price. creslopez41955@hotmail.com

We have been all over the island. Punta Sur is our favorite spot for sure. It is further than the "popular" beaches, but worth the effort.

We have toured several times with ToursPlaza. Like Crescencio, you are able to customize your tour to stop when and where you like. They have a very good website with lots of suggestions.

However both these companies offer a van with a private driver - I am not sure from your question, since you say you want a guide, whether you want to drive your own vehicle, or not?

We also just yesterday booked the private jeep tour with CozumelCruiseExcursions(dot)net. They also offer a dune buggy tour I think. They have pretty stellar reviews at TripAdvisor(dot)com.

I liked that I could use Paypal to pay the deposit and could pay cash once I got there...no one could see my private info.

Carnival had a jeep excursion that went where THEY wanted it to go and it was 30$ more pp. I love that I can choose where I want to go. Have fun!
