1st time in Cozumel...

We are going on a cruise in November and one of our stops is in Cozumel. This will be our first time at this port. We're not sure if we want to do any shore excursions or not yet, but if we decide not to, is there anything right off the ship (such as when you dock in St. Maarten)? Beaches, restaurants, shopping etc? Any info would be great! Thanks! :)

There are three cruise ship piers in Coz, so it will depend upon where your ship is tied up - one pier area is downtown, literally across the street from shopping/dining. The other piers are about a $6-7 cab ride from town, but there are shops and bars built up around each.

Taxi to any of several popular beach clubs (search this board for Paradise Beach, Mr. Sanchos, Playa Mia, and Nachi Cocom to see which ifts your desires/budget) will run about $17 each way - that fare covers up to 4 in the cab, so pair up with others on your cruise! ;) Great snorkeling from the shore is available at the Money Bar - only a $10 cab ride from the piers.

Good luck! :)
