got an email upsell offer for my Breakaway cruise next month.

Balcony to H5 (Courtyard penthouse), or H6/H7 (Aft/Forward penthouse)

H5:

Courtyard-Penthouse-FP-Modal.jpg

Total Approx. Size: 328 sq. ft.

Balcony Size: 58 sq. ft.

H6 (Aft):

(no floorplan available)

Total Approx. Size: 655-824 sq. ft.

Balcony Size: 257 sq. ft.

H7 (Forward):

(no floorplan available)

Total Approx. Size: 420-451 sq. ft.

Balcony Size: 32 sq. ft.

Probably not going to spend $1500 more for a room that we will barely spend any time in.

but H6 seems to be the best value?

I did consecutive cruises first aboard the Getaway and then the Epic last year in first, the aft wrap around corner Penthouse, followed by a family Haven suite aboard the Epic. I know that the Haven aboard the Breakaway has a footprint identical to the Getaway, and I found it to be quite small, as are the 58sqft balconies on all but the OS, in the Haven. The aft Penthouse suites are quite large, one full huge bathroom and a second with an added shower. The balcony is huge, and I do mean huge, and you do have full access to the Haven. Is it worth the extra bucks, for me it is, and I have aft suites booked aboard upcoming cruises aboard the Getaway and the Escape. Enjoy your cruise.;)

Also got an upsell e-mail for my cruise on the Dawn June 19th. Have an inside now. Could of got family suite for $750.00pp. So would of been $1500.00 more plus would of had to Tip Butler and consier another $100.00 each. That would of been doubled what I paid for my inside. Would of loved it but not worth it. Never in cabin anyways

I think it would be a fantastic deal and would jump on that AFT suite with the huge deck IF...

Would you also be receiving the UDP, UBP, OBC and excursion credits?

IMHO, that would make a big difference, in addition to the usual Suite perks such as breakfast and lunch in upscale setting, priority embark and debark, concierge for booking pay venues and reserved seating for shows.

Free room service, the butler-who can deliver, and if need be, serve any meal of your choosing. Laundry service, upscale toiletries, pillow menu, espresso machine with pod selection and probably a bunch more I'm forgetting...

The H6 seems waaaay better than the other choices, especially the H5, which at Haven prices is pretty much of a rip-off -- it's really what they SHOULD call a "mini-suite."

Interesting that you've already received an upsell email for a July cruise, as it seems the pattern has been initial emails go out inside two weeks of sailing.

One thing to consider is that it's $1500 flat, nothing else on top (other than some extra tipping). It's easy to say Well you can do another cruise for that much money, but can you? Another cruise means additional port fees/taxes, additional DSC, additional travel, additional parking, additional drinks/dining and other expenses on board, not to mention the "opportunity cost" of another week vacation (taking time off from work, etc.). I think it would be helpful if you figure out the expected total cost of your entire NCL vacation, and then add $1500 to it (or maybe $1700 to account for the extra tipping), and then compare the different prices for the two options.

We did a similar upsell on our Breakaway cruise in April -- from a B1 Large aft balcony to an H3 Owners Suite, for $750 pp or $1500 extra. The B1 had cost $1109 pp plus port fees/taxes or a total of $2489. We got free UBP and didn't intend to spend a lot of money on other things, so figured the total cost of our NCL vacation would be around $3000, all-in. Adding another $1500 (and some extra tips) meant we increased the total overall cost of the vacation by just over 50%. Thinking about the total costs involved helped us swallow the additional cost of the upsell.

Also, while you know your cruising style better than anybody else, it's possible that with that awesome H6 balcony and the extra "living room" with couch and table, etc., you might wind up spending more time in your suite than you're accustomed to!

aft penthouse sold out on my cruise. :(

i already have udp from booking a balcony.

i also have a House lvl casino drink card from CAS thats good only at the casino bar.

but even if the aft penthouse was available, includes all 4 promos AND I didn't have a drink card already, the upsell offer is not worth $1500 more to me.
