Dumping Waste Water in Alaska Ports. How Do You Feel?

In this day and age it is not ok for any city to be dumping sewage into our oceans and rivers. Cruise ships in AK waters are doing a far better job treating their discharges than Victoria and most people on these cruises are unaware that Victoria is still pumping sewage like it is 1915, not 2015. The strait of juan de fuca does not need the extra "fertilizer", end of discussion in my opinion!

Victoria and Vancouver Island with over 800,000 residents discharge their raw sewerage into Puget Sound and contaminate the waters of the Strait of Juan De Fuca and all of northern Puget sound down to Seattle. All of the cities in Western Washington discharge their treated sewage into Puget Sound. Why are some people making a big deal about the cruise ships discharging their treated sewage into the ocean at the Alaska Ports. All of the Alaska cities do the same.

No, it's screened sewage, which means the only thing removed are solids that shouldn't have been flushed anyway.

Modern container ships have so few crew it is hardly a factor. A couple of dozen and the nice thing is that there's two lifeboats (usually 36 seaters) on the ship, as well as immersion suits for all.

You're dating yourself. Most ships these days have only the one "freefall" boat centerline aft, and immersion suits are not required for everyone, just those assigned to the fast rescue boat.
