Got my cabin assigned

Although I have been reading this board preparing for my cruise, this is my first post.

Leaving from Montreal this Saturday on the Maasdam. We booked an E guaranty and were assigned to a C cabin (576)

Is this a good location/ cabin ?

Are you sure about that cabin number? I'm looking at the Maasdam deck plan and 576 is an inside J category cabin.

So sorry for my mistake and thank you for pointing that out. It is 578!

It appears that you have cabins above and below you -- which is always good.

Welcome to Cruise Critic. You are correct, there is a wealth of information here for both the novice and experienced cruiser.

 

The upgrade From E to C is a matter of location, the staterooms are identical outside cabins on the Main deck. The C is preferred because it is closer to midships. Sooooooo, IMHO you received what you paid for at a bit more favorable location.

That should be a great room.

We were on the Maasdam June 6 from Boston to Montreal in room 597.

It was great being on the main deck. One deck up to the lower promenade and outside. For several ports, the gangway was off the main deck right down the hall for us. Easy off and on. Very quiet room. Ours was a C cabin also. It is a great upgrade. Enjoy your cruise.
