BlueRiband Posted July 14, 2015 #26 Share Posted July 14, 2015 (edited) Thanks, I had missed post #20 and it's encouraging to see there is some resistance to 8-day (and longer) crossings. These longer and longer crossings (and even 9 days with a stop in Halifax as an excuse) don't sit well with me either. I'm working and have limited vacation time. Of course, if one asks anybody on the payroll about this they will repeat the company script. When Cunard sends the post-voyage surveys I use the free text areas to note that. (Now ready for incoming flack: "I love being on QM2 longer." and "Take a plane if you are in a hurry!") Edited July 14, 2015 by BlueRiband
Rare RJChatsworth Posted July 14, 2015 #27 Share Posted July 14, 2015 The captain retired, is it just a coincidence or was he that embarrassed about his comments and the direction Cunard were heading. No, total coincidence. I seem to recall he retired normally within months of us having dinner with him. And if anyone was thinking, it wasn't Paul Wright who, I believe, was a great captain due largely to his'user' friendly manner.
