Thanks, I had missed post #20 and it's encouraging to see there is some resistance to 8-day (and longer) crossings. These longer and longer crossings (and even 9 days with a stop in Halifax as an excuse) don't sit well with me either. I'm working and have limited vacation time.

 

Of course, if one asks anybody on the payroll about this they will repeat the company script.

 

When Cunard sends the post-voyage surveys I use the free text areas to note that.

The captain retired, is it just a coincidence or was he that embarrassed about his comments and the direction Cunard were heading.:eek:

 

No, total coincidence. I seem to recall he retired normally within months of us having dinner with him. And if anyone was thinking, it wasn't Paul Wright who, I believe, was a great captain due largely to his'user' friendly manner.
