Rare Jamman54 Posted July 20, 2015 Author #276 Share Posted July 20, 2015 Somehow I stumbled upon this thread this evening and have followed along. It is most enjoyable so thanks for sharing ! Thanks for following along! Much more to come! Tonight, the dining room danced to Hot, Hot, Hot….. Hi there Jeff! We enjoyed meeting you! You captured my tablemates in this photo! Hi Marjorie! It was great meeting you and Lauren. We didn't get your picture when you guys went by, so we were hoping that you would make it around the dining room a second time! :)
Rare Jamman54 Posted July 20, 2015 Author #277 Share Posted July 20, 2015 Ok I'm all caught up now! I had no idea that Grand Turk has ziplines at the lighthouse now. Yes, but it doesn't look worth the $95 pp they are charging to use it.
Rare Jamman54 Posted July 20, 2015 Author #278 Share Posted July 20, 2015 Another excellent review! Many thanks, Jeff, for all the effort (and thank Patti, too....after all, she took most of the photos of you enjoying yourself!) A lot of people dog the SPLENDOR because she doesn't have all the bells and whistles some of the other ships have. I personally found her to be very comfortable, spotless, well-maintained, and a good sea boat. Unlike some ships I've been on – ships that are more like amusement parks at sea – SPLENDOR left no doubt that we were on a ship. Again, thank you, sir! -Russ Thank you Russ for reading, and for your kind words! We have enjoyed every one of our cruises on the Splendor! Rare Jamman54 Posted July 21, 2015 Author #279 Share Posted July 21, 2015 (edited) It’s Half Moon Cay Day!!!! We were up at 6:30am. We would be arriving at Half Moon Cay around 8:30. Looking outside, we could see, once again, that the seas were very smooth…. Finally, I was able to capture a sunrise!! Around 7:15, we made our way up to the Lido for breakfast. Here’s a view of the aft omelet station….. To be continued….. Edited July 21, 2015 by Jamman54
Rare Jamman54 Posted July 21, 2015 Author #280 Share Posted July 21, 2015 The Continental Breakfast Station….. Today’s breakfast. I had a little of everything….. This is the beverage station up on Deck10….. After breakfast we made our way back to the cabin to get our beach bags, and we ran into our room stewards, Inyoman and Kadek….. Those passengers that had rented the Oasis, Villas, or cabanas, were told to meet in the El Morocco Lounge on Deck 5 aft at 8:15am. I still can’t understand why they have us meet there, as it’s the farthest lounge from the tender loading platform, which is on Deck 0 forward. We are too be on the first tender over to HMC. At about 8:45 we are told that they are ready for us, so we make that almost 10 minute trek down to the tender. Once there, we are told that there will be a short delay, as the Captain needs to reposition the ship due to the wind and waves. Finally we board the tender for our short ride over to HMC. Malcolm the CD was coordinating the tender loading process from the loading platform. As we pulled away he wished us a great day….. jigger Posted July 21, 2015 #290 Share Posted July 21, 2015 Are the drink prices the same as on the ship ? I assume you use your sign and sail card ?
anonmom Posted July 21, 2015 #291 Share Posted July 21, 2015 Here is the most up to date price list for the island rentals….. Are you not allowed to bring your own sunshade onto the island? Those clamshells really don't look that big. I feel like I've seen a similar sized pop up shade for about $25 *total*

Really need to stay there until 6 pm at least, there is still enough sun light to make sure all tendors are back to the ship... should be a 7 am to 6 pm that would make a perfect day

Rare Jamman54 Posted July 21, 2015 Author #295 Share Posted July 21, 2015 Are the drink prices the same as on the ship ? I assume you use your sign and sail card ? Yes, you do use your sail & sign card for your drink purchases. Drinks are .50 to a 1.00 higher on the island. There are also no discounts on buckets of beer. :( Are you not allowed to bring your own sunshade onto the island? Those clamshells really don't look that big. I feel like I've seen a similar sized pop up shade for about $25 *total* There are no rules against bringing your own floats, sunshades, etc to the island. Tutontow Posted July 21, 2015 #298 Share Posted July 21, 2015 The last time I was at HMC they were working on a building at the entrance fairly close to where the tenders dock. Do you know if it is completed yet? I will be there in less than a month. We can't wait.
