PSkinner Posted August 12, 2015 #1 Share Posted August 12, 2015 we are arriving 2 days before cruise and have never been to Miami. We are staying near Bayside. Our question: would the Hop On/Hop Off bus be a good way to see local sights or can we get the same thing using Metrorail?
JohninDC Posted August 12, 2015 #2 Share Posted August 12, 2015 Hop-on/off is a good option and will take you to parts of Miami and the city of Miami Beach not accessed by the rail system.
Capt_BJ Posted August 12, 2015 #3 Share Posted August 12, 2015 (edited) Agree with John & would say it's no question if you are OK with the cost of the on/off it goes places the rail system doesn't get CLOSE to . . . you can ride down the MacArthur and see "cruise ship row" it stops in Little Havana for a great Cuban sandwich lunch and even stops at the Venetian Pool for a quick dip in the spring fed icon . . . Heck, I lived in Miami for almost 12 years and it sounds like something I'd do today! you can extend the ticket to include a boat ride around the houses of the fancy pants from Bayside too . . . eandj Posted September 10, 2015 #5 Share Posted September 10, 2015 The hop on bus is a great way to spend the day. Stop in South beach for a stroll and lunch. Lots to do in walking distance there. But be sure to give yourself enough time to do the full routes.

Another option is the speed boat ride offered at Bayside that runs thru the intracoastal if they like excitement. OR the Miami Ducks tour which does a city area tour along with a water portion. Kids really like that and the narrators do a fun presentation. We picked that up in Miami beach as I recall.
