Adriatic Explorer onshore currencies

Recommended Posts

Most of them are euros, even Dubrovnik but you may require Kuna for the bus. Presumably you are going to Korcula and they are the same . We usually get a few off the boat, realise it's more expensive but we only have £10 worth which for us is enough, any left over we give to the staff. When are you going? 4 weeks for us☺

Croatia you'll need Kune, although Euro is often but not always accepted. When we were on the Majesty a fortnight ago they ran out of Kune so best advice would be get some before you leave the UK.

We actually took a taxi from Dubrovnik. The universal price was 13 Euros to get to the Old Town which certainly seemed good value for 4 of us. We took that option rather than wait for a bus and the converted some Euros for Kune at a very reasonable exchange at a shop near Pile Gate where the taxi dropped us off.

Euros are the currency for Montenegro and Slovenia....Kunas for Croatia....you can use Euros in. Croatia but its cheaper to use kunas....easy to get before you go in M&S or if you just want a few you can get from an ATM when you arrive.

Linda we have in the past, in fact the wife bought some of the local jewellery and they took a mixture of both. Intension is that we go back to the same shop in Korcula for something to match. Am I correct that it's your 45th whilst on the cruise?
Yes! As DH says "Train Robber only got 40 years" Hmmm :D

We bought some jewellery in Sibenik and he said there would be a charge for credit card so we went to the bank and withdrew the correct amount in kuna from the ATM .

We did take Kuna with us bought from M & S.....as you get a better exchange rate if you use the local currency......but I think certainly Dubrovnik and Korcula will accept euros...not sure about Sibenik as its not so touristy. :)

Take Kune, no doubt. Always use local currency (if you can obviously).

The exchange rates in Dubrovnik were pleasantly generous. The store right alongside the taxi rank upon arriving at Pile Gate professed to not be beaten on exchange rates and although we didn't visit ALL options in town I was happy enough.

And dare one say that even if the Majesty did have some currency my suspicion would be that their rate would not have been better.
