Sandypaws21 Posted August 21, 2015 #1 Share Posted August 21, 2015 We are going on our first cruise at the end of October on Rhapsody from Rome. When we were first researching it all, I'm pretty sure I saw on RC website that they offered a wine package where you could buy x number bottles. I can't seem to find this anywhere now - does anyone know if it has been taken off? We aren't really interested in any other drinks, but like a bottle of wine with our evening meal. BekkaW Posted August 21, 2015 #2 Share Posted August 21, 2015 It's no longer available online but some ships have still been selling it onboard. Really all you can do is check once you embark. Also, I'm not sure if you knew this, but you can take 2x 750ml bottles of wine per cabin on with you when you embark.
Clarea Posted August 21, 2015 #3 Share Posted August 21, 2015 They have also lowered some of the wine prices, so depending on what wine you like, it may be the same price as when you purchased a package.

dorisis Posted August 21, 2015 #5 Share Posted August 21, 2015 You can take as many bottles of wine onboard as you want. 2 per couple are free and then there is a corkage charge for the rest. Buying wine in Italy before you board might be the best bargain.

There are no corkage fees on Royal, and the limit is two bottles per stateroom, no matter how many guests in the stateroom.

mek Posted August 22, 2015 #10 Share Posted August 22, 2015 Yes, no corkage fee too. That's great - I drink old vine zinfandels and they are not easy to find on ships.

Not sure if they have it anymore, but they used to have the Cline Zin, which I thought was old vine.
ac1 Posted August 22, 2015 #13 Share Posted August 22, 2015 Just checking! You said all RCL ships so I guess that includes the Oasis. Celebrating a birthday on the 9/12 cruise and would love to take along a couple bottles of our favorite wine. Ann

I just might take a couple of bottles with me in November and then check it out once I'm on the ship. Doing another RCI cruise in March, so it will be good to know. Thanks for the tip. suzyluvs2cruise Posted August 23, 2015 #16 Share Posted August 23, 2015 On a couple of recent cruises the MDR offered a 20% discount on two different bottles of wine each night. The selection changed so it wasn't the same bottles all cruise.
