Getting to Dining room on Elation - qt?

I am sure some of you have been on a ship where you 'could not get there from here' when trying to get to one of the dining rooms from a lower deck

I am about to book a lower deck cabin on the Elation and I notice the galley is between the aft and mid elevators on deck 8. There is an aft dining room and a mid dining room on deck 8.

We will be below deck 8 -- any time dining -- is there one dining room assigned to anytime dining?

I know we could not access the mid dining room from deck 8 aft - can't walk thru the galley/kitchen so would have to go 'up and over' as they say, if we are assigned to the mid dining room. In that case it might be better to have a cabin closer to the mid stairs vs the aft ones.

Just trying to think ahead -- it's not THAT big of a deal but I have experienced it before and it gets to be a bit of a small aggravation - -if one needs to be aggravated on a cruise!:o

Guess my main question is --- does Elation assign 'any time' diners to only one of the dining rooms?

Thanks!!

My experience has been that ships with two dining rooms use the mid-ship for ATD and aft for set dining.

After my first couple of cruises, I just never had any problem with navigation. All the ships with two dining rooms have a galley between.

I always take the stairs and book on a low floor. Depending on where I'm going, I either walk forward or aft on my cabin floor and start climbing. If I'm going from Riviera to Lido, I'll climb up to Deck 5 and walk back (catching my breath), then take the aft stairs on up.

Well, I said Deck 5 but I mean Promenade. Fantasy-class ships start of Deck 3 instead of Deck 1. Just to be sure people are truly confused! :p

Anyway, yes, you'll be in the mid-ship dining room. If you cabin is aft, just walk all the way forward and up to Atlantic.

The ATD MDR is the most be off the Atrium.

The aft MDR is a pain to get to. We stay upstairs in 9 Promenade, waiting in the bar before the comedy lounge. The staircase is cut thru so you can see when the doors open.

I almost always use either the Promenade or my cabin deck as a through fare. I usually stay on the deck above the promenade close to the forward elevators. And we usually go down to the Lobby bar for a drink before dinner in the forward dining room for YTD.

In all my cruises since doing YTD, I don't think I've ever had it in the aft dining room.

I think you just need to plan ahead. My preferred stateroom is two below the Lido aft. I also prefer YTD. Morning either elevator or stairs up or down to breakfast/brunch depending what is planned. Evening we just walk all the way forward to the Atrium elevator. We just find it easier to traverse on a stateroom deck or the promenade. It is best to just avoid the decks that have dining rooms.(except to dine of course)

Two below lido aft is the aft MDR on the Fantasy class ships.

We were on the Elation in July and ATD will be in the MDR Front of ship and you will enter through the atrium. The elation maybe a little older but she is amazing! I'm sure you will enjoy yourself. We always went through the casino to the front elevators and down to the atrium for the entrance. That way I knew we wouldn't get lost lol!! Enjoy your cruise!!!

walk down the promenade deck, and have a pre dinner drink at the Gatsby lounge, then you can walk down the stairs into the Aft dining room. It always seems a more glamorous dining area, but harder to get to.

Cruise happy!
