LHC Posted September 26, 2005 #1 Share Posted September 26, 2005 Okay, I have heard that spa services are half price when in port. Is this true. They are expensive....but at half price I might be able to use them for my daughter and myself. You old cruisers let me know Linda
Esme Posted September 26, 2005 #2 Share Posted September 26, 2005 I gather you mean the Spa services on the ship? If so, yes, sometimes they have specials on port days. Just watch for the flyers from the Spa.
Rare LAFFNVEGAS Posted September 26, 2005 #3 Share Posted September 26, 2005 That is one of those BIG unknown questions Like the UpGrade Fairy. It varies from ship to ship and from cruise to cruise. The pricing is never consistant.
meglet Posted September 26, 2005 #4 Share Posted September 26, 2005 I've never noticed them quite as low as "half price," but there are some discounts.

She had been feeling "flabby".....didn't see much in the way of a reduction in "flab" but I can't blame the product of procedure....turns out she was pregnant.... LHC Posted September 27, 2005 Author #11 Share Posted September 27, 2005 Any of you have a specific massage or spa service on-board that you can recommend? What a Great email response of being Pregnant!! As a nurse, I do not believe in quick fat fixes, just slow good exercise and diet control, but I do love the relaxation of massage therapy.... Candy Posted September 27, 2005 #12 Share Posted September 27, 2005 My fave is Ionithermie - a detoxifying algae wrap with electrodes stuck in them that zap your abdominal and thigh muscles to force contractions, for what reason I don't know. They zap you for 20 minutes or so, and - voila! - your thighs and tummy have shrunk! Ladies and gentlemen, I come here to say that this treatment, while not approved for application in the U.S., WORKS! The most I have lost is 13+ inches, measured in 4 places, and noticeably firmer skin texture. Naturally, they recommend 3 treatments for the 'full effect'. The procucts they offer for sale do not work independently. You need to purchase several, as one is a catalyst for another. Candy Posted September 27, 2005 #14 Share Posted September 27, 2005 If it is not appoved why do some spa's in the USA offer it?Unless something has changed, this purported 'medical procedure' has not been approved for application in the US. If it is, I wanna know where (not that I'll stop cruising, I'll just have more treatments). I'll check it out.
