clinthi Posted September 21, 2015 #2 Share Posted September 21, 2015 How far is that from where the ship docks?
Ms411 Posted September 21, 2015 Author #3 Share Posted September 21, 2015 About 1.5_2 miles depending upon the dock. Taxi is $4_5 each way per person.

Ms411 Posted November 11, 2015 Author #5 Share Posted November 11, 2015 Yes, Bluebeard's is open, too, but I haven't been there, so don't want to mention a place I haven't been to. Maybe you can tell us more about that attraction?
O2B@Cagain Posted November 11, 2015 #6 Share Posted November 11, 2015 Bluebeard's is a timeshare/condo complex above town with a couple of great restaurants. It was never a tourist attraction and it wasn't closed like Blackbeard's.
Ms411 Posted November 11, 2015 Author #7 Share Posted November 11, 2015 Bluebeard's has opened a museum with a tour of the tower. Fee required. Museum opened last year, but was mostly marketed to guests. Now marketing to everyone.

Suzieanna Posted November 22, 2015 #9 Share Posted November 22, 2015 I see it only opens Tuesday Wednesday and Thursday:(. I wonder why that is... My ship is there on a Monday. Typical!
Ms411 Posted November 22, 2015 Author #10 Share Posted November 22, 2015 I don't think they want to commit the resources to operate it full time. It's a small area and not kid friendly if younger than 10.
wrcjr98 Posted November 23, 2015 #11 Share Posted November 23, 2015 The website doesn't say anything about the Rum Factory that was previously there when it was known as Blackbeard's Castle? My husband is going to want some of that great rum when we cruise in February! If anyone goes, let me know if it's still there!
Ms411 Posted November 23, 2015 Author #12 Share Posted November 23, 2015 The Rum Factory is no longer there. Did he like the flavored or the regular rums? Bones Rum, which I think was made there at some point, has a bar on the Waterfront where you can taste, drink, and buy bottles. The flavors with the wax top may still be available at the store, Caribana, on Main Street.

Thanks for the tip on the Caribana store! We'll check there!!!
