About 1.5_2 miles depending upon the dock. Taxi is $4_5 each way per person.

Yes, Bluebeard's is open, too, but I haven't been there, so don't want to mention a place I haven't been to. Maybe you can tell us more about that attraction?

Bluebeard's is a timeshare/condo complex above town with a couple of great restaurants. It was never a tourist attraction and it wasn't closed like Blackbeard's.

Bluebeard's has opened a museum with a tour of the tower. Fee required. Museum opened last year, but was mostly marketed to guests. Now marketing to everyone.

I see it only opens Tuesday Wednesday and Thursday:(. I wonder why that is... My ship is there on a Monday. Typical!

I don't think they want to commit the resources to operate it full time. It's a small area and not kid friendly if younger than 10.

The website doesn't say anything about the Rum Factory that was previously there when it was known as Blackbeard's Castle? My husband is going to want some of that great rum when we cruise in February! If anyone goes, let me know if it's still there!

The Rum Factory is no longer there. Did he like the flavored or the regular rums? Bones Rum, which I think was made there at some point, has a bar on the Waterfront where you can taste, drink, and buy bottles.

 

The flavors with the wax top may still be available at the store, Caribana, on Main Street.

He likes the spiced rum, and the coconut rum, and I think the pineapple rum? Thanks for the tip on the Caribana store! We'll check there!!!
