Shogun Posted October 15, 2015 Author #26 Share Posted October 15, 2015 Hi All Well weather has been amazing calm seas, hit 27 degrees the other day. Have had two on-board fires first in the incinerator fire team dealt with quickly captain advised what had happened and all was well, then a galley fire which was dealt with before fire crew arrived. Casino very nasty no wins however Mrs Shogun winning enough to cover my losses. Finding a seat can be difficult ic very busy, Made it to one of the 4 CHEF'S TABLES excellent evening Overall food has been very good just the odd item a bit off. Biggest issue for many passengers is the lack of wine on board. Others have raised issues that a lot of entertainment is passenger driven meaning less professional performance s Chat more when l can Yours Shogun

SwissDave Posted October 15, 2015 #28 Share Posted October 15, 2015 Hi Shogun Good to hear you seem to be having a nice time. Wine situation seems to be a bigger overall issue, just off the Island a couple of weeks ago and the wine and champagne situation was dire. We ended up at one point with no champagne, no sauvignon blanc, no pinot grigio, several reds also ran out. It was blamed on Italian customs holding a container or 2 back but i'm not so sure as it happened earlier in the year as well on the CB which was being stocked in the UK for the cruises i was on. Princess need to take a long hard look at their provisioning process as it had got slowly worse over the last couple of years. Hope the weather stays good for you. And a big hello to the missus. Shogun Posted October 16, 2015 Author #31 Share Posted October 16, 2015 Hi All Another fire call last night, this time a fan on a fridge in the galley was producing smoke, Captain has been very good at giving details of every incident this time they pulled the plug out, a few passengers complaining about all the alarms and messages. Shogun Posted October 16, 2015 Author #32 Share Posted October 16, 2015 Hi All Last sea day, seas calm sky overcast, going on tour in morning to fill a few hours, Overall very lazy cruise, Mrs shogun likes being referred too as the young ones, now TAs attract an older cruiser, but this appears to attract even older group as such ship has been very quite at night Yours Shogun

Shogun Posted October 18, 2015 Author #41 Share Posted October 18, 2015 Hi All Now back home at 2.oopm after leaving Emerald at 8.00am yesterday two very happy four legged friends. The whole point of this cruise was to do nothing relax and get away from work, As will be back at it tomorrow, so for us it achieved this. However a few things took the shine of the cruise, The only elite benefit we took full use off was mini bar, no tendering this cruise, did not need checkin benefit as arrived very late however over half the ship in this bracket normal checkin was quicker, and a number of elites have told me this is the route they took to board the ship. Food was overall very good, however a few dishes had been cut back especially on some desserts, were in the past the dish would be full this time it was only three quarters, now Princess has a problem here, if the reason is to save money then it is not working as waiters are telling you they will bring two as one is not enough, or at main course bringing an extra plate or two for table to share. As to my cruise buddies overall a very jolly bunch, but a few things while in the elevator please do not play with your false teeth, or the lady with the itch well no point in going into details. But more importantly health, last year I lost a week of my vacation due to catching Ruby bug that lasted months. Well this cruise had by the end a number of coughs and sneezes , but I met a number of folks complaining about being in the theatre and being sprayed by the person behind, one couple got up and left. So on my last morning to wake up feeling a bit rough to end the day with a mega head ache, bleeding from both sides of my nose and feeling sick should not have been a shock to me. Not sure what I have caught will see what today brings. So should the ship be quarantining passengers with bad coughs, colds to their cabins, or banning them for large group events. Shogun Posted October 18, 2015 Author #42 Share Posted October 18, 2015 Hi The deluxe breakfast could be booked at the Crown grill, it was on one of those cards you get left in your cabin at night, did not look closely at it but looked like the same as balcony dinning same price, champagne etc Also met elite members who before boarding had the internet package removed and turned into obc, I assume they contacted Princess before boarding to request this, yours Shogun

Shogun Posted October 19, 2015 Author #45 Share Posted October 19, 2015 Hi All I notice that when we disembarked there was an ambulance, it did not have lights going or doors open, was wondering if we lost anyone while doing the crossing. As did not hear of any medical issues requiring an ambulance. yours Shogun
