cruzhappy88 Posted October 17, 2015 #1 Share Posted October 17, 2015 I can't seem to find the flat rate from the pier to the John Wayne Airport. The fare for a taxi from the pier to Long Beach Airport looks to be $45. I need to compare the two. Anyone know the current fare for a taxi from the San Pedro pier to John Wayne in Santa Ana? cattolica Posted October 17, 2015 #2 Share Posted October 17, 2015 I don't think you will find a taxi that will offer a flat rate from the cruise terminal in San Pedro to John Wayne Airport. That airport is not commonly used for flights after a cruise. We used to live about 10 mins from John Wayne Airport and used Super Shuttle to get to and from the cruise terminal many times. The shared shuttle rate was around $80 plus tip. Last time we used a shuttle was about 4 years ago so I don't know if the prices have changed. You are probably better off checking the prices for a shared shuttle or town car service from the cruise terminal to the airport
Snowbird Posted October 18, 2015 #3 Share Posted October 18, 2015 We just got off the Crown Princess on Oct 3. Cab from San Pedro to Orange County Airport (John Wayne airport) was just a few cents short of $100, excluding tip. This was a regular yellow cab. I think that you can get a better price with a town car than a taxi. There have been several private town car companies mentioned on this board including one that I have used many times. I don't take shuttles so I don't know nor care what their prices are.:)
kenish Posted October 19, 2015 #5 Share Posted October 19, 2015 Uber shows the fare as $33-$45 (Uber uses demand and congestion pricing, it should be near the lower end of the range on a weekend). SNA allows full Uber access, so no issue there. Lyft is another option.
SactoSkip Posted October 22, 2015 #6 Share Posted October 22, 2015 Quite a ride in heavy traffic. Search for a shuttle instead.
cruzhappy88 Posted October 22, 2015 Author #7 Share Posted October 22, 2015 SO, will there be shuttles lined up ready to go when we get off the ship? If we prebook a shuttle I don't know what time to tell them, that's why I thought we would grab a cab. I prefer to fly out of Long Beach, but we will have to wait until 3pm to get a flight from there :( That's why we are looking at John Wayne. I absolutely hate LAX and am trying to avoid going there.
