Sauer-kraut Posted October 26, 2015 #2 Share Posted October 26, 2015 which location is better or does it really matter? Have you asked this over on the PORTS of CALL boards for those specific ports? You will get a better answer over there. Las Palmas in the Canaries? IMO the other two ports might be more 'authentic'. Be warned that when the animals get up off their knees its a seasickness moment when you are in the saddle. My ride was interesting, but it was in Egypt at a Bedouin camp. kirsty_r Posted October 26, 2015 #4 Share Posted October 26, 2015 for me I would go with tangier. Las palmas has amazing scenery and vine yards, olive farms, cheese producers etc which are in my opinion more authentic than the camel ride attraction. kirsty_r Posted October 27, 2015 #6 Share Posted October 27, 2015 I used handmade tours. (google it) very highly recommended, comes up with a personal tour based on what you like.
SquishTheWhale Posted October 27, 2015 #7 Share Posted October 27, 2015 I've done a few camel rides and can't say I enjoyed them! But if your heart is set on doing one, make sure you wear long trousers- bare legs against camel hair can be uncomfortable.
