'retreat" area?

We've enjoyed a few HAL cruises,and each ship we've been on had the outdoor aft pool.

I see some ships have a "retreat" instead of the outdoor pool. Is this just an open lounge area? No water?

Any info would be appreciated.

Which ship are you talking about? On the Vista and Signature class ships, the "Retreat" cabana area is forward, and yes, doesn't have a pool.

I suspect the op is talking about ships like the Veendam. The retreat area on the vista and signature ships is in the front not the aft. That said, more info would be helpful.
