Port maps

The maps on the Daily Programme are very basic but are still a help, especially if you want to map out a walking route.

Look for a Tourist Information booth or representative at the port and ask for a map. The problem is that these maps are often too big and too detailed for me, but they are a big help when you get lost.

I often do a google search of all the ports I will be visiting and then I print off a map so that I can plan things in advance.

Yes, if I were a man I would probably wear belt and braces as well as double-sided tape to hold things up. :D

Love it! I research ports and do map searches in advance, too. I blame it on my years as a girl scout--Be Prepared!

It doesn't cover absolutely everywhere, but there is an excellent app called citymaps2go by Ulmon. Completely free - you just download the maps for where you are going. Best thing is that it shows you where you are at street level, in realtime, even without a working internet connection. Fantastic for cities you don't know. You can type in where you want to go and the map will guide you.

Agree this is a great app I esp like the "home" one lets me find all sorts of places close to home.

Really good that you dont need to be on line to access it once you have downloaded it
