Getting in touch in case of emergency

I have had "emergency" type calls a couple of times. In each case staff took the time to track me down so that I could return the call promptly.

Ship-shore calls are expensive and that helps to discourage less than important calls. Carrying a cell phone on the other hand is an invitation.

"Free" wifi is not as free as many folks think. Google the NBC TODAY SHOW segment on hacked "free" wifi spots that prey particularly on tourists. Your actual cost of following the crew to free wifi may be identity theft.

IMO, pay for your regular provider's international data program and use their foreign partner's data connect.

If you are afraid of identity theft...FREEZE you credit at all 3 bureaus. No credit, makes it harder to steal your $$. There are still thinks a thief could do, but it makes it much less worth their while.
