tazmanrmv Posted November 21, 2015 #1 Share Posted November 21, 2015 Hi, my family and I have booked our first Disney cruise on the Dream in April, 4 day out of Port Canaveral. Can anyone tell me what the dress code is for dining? We have cruised many times with other lines and are familiar with theirs, but wasn't sure if DCL was different. Ex techie Posted November 21, 2015 #2 Share Posted November 21, 2015 (edited) Here is the dress code from the DCL website In general, most onboard dining locations are "cruise casual,” so casual attire, such as shorts and T-shirts, is permitted, with the exception of swimwear and tank tops. Most cruises have special theme nights that provide opportunities to dress up for a one-of-a-kind family photo. Here's a breakdown of special dress events by cruise itinerary: https://disneycruise.disney.go.com/faq/dining-food-beverages/dining-dress-codes/ ex techie Edited November 21, 2015 by Ex techie
moki'smommy Posted November 22, 2015 #3 Share Posted November 22, 2015 Other than in the adult dining venues, there is no ENFORCED dress code provided your outfit is not obviously swimwear and you have something on your feet. The "suggested dining" is listed as "cruise casual" on most nights. What this means is subject to your interpretation. They continue to "request" no tank tops, but several years ago did away with the "request" of no jeans or shorts. But even the definition of a tank top is subject to interpretation and in no way enforced. There will be one formal and one semi-formal night on a 7 night cruise. Most people dress up at least a bit on these nights. Some go all out, really formal. Most guys wear a suit or a jacket, most women wear something like a dressy church dress or cocktail dress. A few people wear jeans with holes in them. No matter what you choose, there will be others attired similarly. No, you do not have to bring a jacket on the ship; one is not required anywhere except at Remy. Bottom line--other than at the adult dining venues, no enforcement of any "code" or "request." IMHO, over the years the attire has become increasingly casual.

gambit57 Posted November 22, 2015 #5 Share Posted November 22, 2015 Unfortunately, it's not just your opinion, it has become increasingly casual. That's pretty much American society in general.
Host Mick Posted November 24, 2015 #6 Share Posted November 24, 2015 That's pretty much American society in general. Even on the higher end lines. Celebrity just dropped "Formal Night" in favor of "Evening Chic" which is suggested attire between formal and cruise smart.
