Can someone tell how New Years Eve is celebrated on the Breakaway? What kind of parties? What to expect! Leaving on the 27th of Dec!

You will get a free style daily in your stateroom after turn down service on 12/30. It will list all the activities on the ship that they have planned for New Year's Eve.

The big party is usually in the Atrium: champagne glass tower, ice sculptures saying "2016", streamers and balloon drop, total strangers trying to hug and kiss you. It's fun. And you may run into your cabin steward there passing around the free sparkling wine (probably less fun for them to still be working at midnight…)

If you want something smaller, the other bars and lounges around the ship are open, too.

IF they are passing around champagne at midnight, will they have non alcoholic for the teens? I don't care if my kids have 1 glass, but I would not be happy to have them wasted!

Your kids will not be given alcohol if they are not of legal drinking age!

Will there be anything special going on in the dining room or should we make reservations at a specialty restaurant? We will be on the jade for NYE.
In my experience, the specialty restaurants don't do anything special (as far as the menu goes) on NYE. I posted an MDR menu from last year's NYE dinner on the Jade in this thread. Edited by hawkeyetlse

We saw 2015 in on the Breakaway . If I remember correctly, there was a party in Spice H2O with a DJ, a band by the pool, and music( MAY have been the NCL orchestra?) & a party going on in the Atrium.

They gave out hats and noise makers . They came around with glasses of Champagne (plastic as we were in the pool area )

There were no Special menus in the Dining Rooms. Some people were all dressed up and some we not.
