March 2017, hotels how far out?

Have a cruise booked for March 19, 2017- how far out do hotel reservation booking go? Similar to airlines at around 11 months. Needing room in FLL even though we are cruising out of POM. Flights have always been much cheaper to FLL. Thanks for any feedback. Charlie

My experience with Hilton hotels varies but mostly 9-12 months out. They seem to update on a weekly basis. I would start checking in March and check your hotel of choice until they open up. It can be a tedious task.

Most hotels don't allow bookings any further out than 12 months.

As soon as you can, it's only a reservation and you can cancel it up to 24 hours before with no penalty.

For our cruise next month, we booked 11 months out. Not all hotels were showing their dates then, but enough were that I knew to take the decent deal.

 

Another option if you know where you want to stay is to call and see if you can book before the online option becomes available.
