Best Route

I will be driving to Port Everglades in April, arriving via Alligator Alley. I’m looking at that gosh awful series of complex interchanges between the end of Alligator Alley and the port. I actually will be going to a Hotel on 17th St. I would love to avoid the hassle of the interchanges but see no way. At this point I plan to go north on U.S. 1 from I-595 to 17th, then East. Is there a better way or is this the best way?

Just stay on 595, that road goes right into the port.

Since you are going to the hotel first your route is good and not nearly as complicated as you fear :D. It is well marked with street/directional signs. Enjoy your cruise!
