Caribbean Princess: How are the beds now?

It's been a few years since we have been on Princess, but are looking at their great British Isles itineraries. They are really tempting!

We have been on the Caribbean Princess but it was a number of years ago. At the time, the beds in a standard balcony room were not to our liking, and I'm wondering if they have been changed out in the last 6 years or so.

Has anyone been on the Caribbean Princess in a balcony or mini-suite lately that can comment on the beds? I've read the most recent reviews and the ship gets generally positive reviews, but I haven't seen anyone specifically mention the beds.

Thanks for the replies! Sounds like it is still hit or miss with bedding on Princess.

I think next "dry dock" upgrade planned for Caribbean Princess is in 2017, so it would be after our planned cruise this fall. I think she was last in dry dock in 2013.

Rarely do they change the mattress's during a dry dock.

Replacing is an ongoing process while the ship is in service.

Absolutely the truth. I've had bad beds and good beds both on the same ship on different voyages. Princess is advertising their new bed idea, but that's not supposed to happen for some time still.

Just got off her today, bed was very comfortable without any eggcrate topper in our cabin.

We got off her today too and found the bed very comfortable. We did get our request for the egg crate filled. I have a really bad back and was shocked the first night to realize that I slept 7 hours straight and woke up without any back pain or sciatica. Can't even do that at home! We were in an aft facing Vista Suite.
