Hi will arive in Barbados on Adventure of the seas. A few years ago we spent two weeks land holiday on the south coast wich we do love. This time we thought we would like to experience the west coast,

Anyone know of a good west coast beach visit for the day in port. We really want beach beds and umbrellas to rent. Acess to a lunch snack and drinks would make this perfect. Shade is the number 1 requirement as I have lupus.

If you do have a reccomendation do you also have information on costs to get there.

TIA

There are two beaches approx 2 miles from the cruise port, BRIGHTON & BRANDONS (next to each other), which some cruisers walk to. But I never have actually visited.

Beds, shade, food and drinks.

A personal recommendation would be a day stay with Lunch and drinks at the Coral Reef Beach Club. No day passes, just run up a tab, and pay at end of the day for what you ordered.

I just read online this weekend that the Old malibu beach club/ cockspur beach club is being renovated and will be opening in February. We visited that beach back in 2004 when it was Malibu and then in 2009 when it was cockspur. I thoroughly enjoyed the beach as it was like a bathtub....very minimal wave action, white sand and clear blue waters. I believe the new name is Blueberry's. This was reported by someone who stopped through a couple weeks ago. He indicated that the renovations look to be pretty awesome and I cant wait to see what has been done when I visit later in the year.

I would suggest Allynes beach...by lone star restaurant..don't know cost of taxi...there are quite a few others...skip brightens and Brandon's...go further up the coast to really see the west coast beaches...

Lone Star Restaurant by taxi is about US$25.00 each way. Book Lunch and the guests have free use of their sun beds.
