Kfamilycruise Posted February 6, 2016 #1 Share Posted February 6, 2016 Hi all. We would really like to do an excursion with Rays in Cozumel and also be able to hang out on a beach. Are there any out there? It looks like NCL offers swimming with the Rays, but not sure if there is anytime for beach too. We have 7, 11 and 13 year-year old boys so thinking this might be best bet for them. TIA

BLAMBKY Posted February 6, 2016 #4 Share Posted February 6, 2016 Thanks, but looks like that is in Grand Cayman? You are right...sorry, I mixed up my islands as we are stopping at both.
capricorn548 Posted February 6, 2016 #5 Share Posted February 6, 2016 Is your cruise stopping at Cayman? That would be your best bet for the Rays Sent from my iPhone using Forums mobile app
Mistizoom Posted February 7, 2016 #6 Share Posted February 7, 2016 I did Everybody Loves Rays! through NCL 3 years ago and really enjoyed it. My son was 10 at the time. Afterwards we had time to go back to the ship, have lunch, get changed and went shopping in the pier area. You should have time to head to a beach right after the excursion instead, depending on the tour time and departure time.
ABQrobin Posted February 7, 2016 #7 Share Posted February 7, 2016 The Cozumel rays are captive in a small enclosure pen you stand inside. The Cayman rays are completely free ocean swimming and come to the site for food. Completely different ...
Mistizoom Posted February 7, 2016 #8 Share Posted February 7, 2016 (edited) OP, if you are not going to Grand Cayman, the Everybody Loves Rays! was indeed a fun excursion. I am not sure why there is so much commentary about Grand Cayman on the Cozumel board. Edited February 7, 2016 by Mistizoom

OP, here is a recent thread with a short review I gave of Everybody Loves Rays! in it: http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=2308720 Edited February 10, 2016 by Mistizoom
capricorn548 Posted February 11, 2016 #11 Share Posted February 11, 2016 A lot of carnival cruises stop at Cayman when they stop at Cozumel. That's why we are all mentioning it. If the cruise is in fact stopping at grand Cayman and Cozumel, seeing captive sting rays in Cozumel is a waste of time in comparison to grand Cayman. Anyway, the ones in Cozumel are captive which isn't very humane. The OP still hasn't confirmed if they are stopping in both or not? mjrich73 Posted March 11, 2016 #13 Share Posted March 11, 2016 (edited) We did Stingray Beach in Cozumel in 2014. We really enjoyed it! Going to be taking the kids there in 2 weeks. They have a beach area there also. Edited March 11, 2016 by mjrich73
