EDL Posted February 17, 2016 #1 Share Posted February 17, 2016 Hi All, What's your experience with Conceirge Service, especially on Navigator of the seas ? How did you find the service and what ways did he/she assist you during your cruise ? I curious to know what benefits or role they serve to suite passengers. Any tips ? Hints ? Share your experiences please...
Clarea Posted February 17, 2016 #2 Share Posted February 17, 2016 The concierge can help with dining reservations, excursions, spa appointments, etc.
spookwife Posted February 17, 2016 #3 Share Posted February 17, 2016 they are a go between for things like making reservations at the spa, specialty dining, even MTD. they can sign you up for tours( free ones and the ones for a cost) they can pull up/print your folio in the middle of the cruise so you can keep track of your OBC.( esp useful when the interactive TV is down) the good ones will mingle during cocktail hour( or help serve when it gets too crowded/busy) and run interference when you have issues elsewhere on board. We had Ricardo on Nav and we thought he did a good job, especially on the last day when he brought us down a private elevator directly to where our luggage was stowed n the terminal. RFerrington Posted February 17, 2016 #4 Share Posted February 17, 2016 (edited) If you call at a port that requires a tender, the Concierge will personally escort you down to where the tenders are boarding and you will receive priority boarding (in other words (IOW), you cut in line !). Unfortunately, you're on your own, getting back. The personal escort and priority boarding only works getting OFF the ship, not getting back on. As spookwife mentioned, you also will be personally escorted down to either retrieve your bags or (if you have Luggage Valet) down to the priority line at Customs, which is, usually, SIGNIFICANTLY shorter than standing in that long, snaking line. He or she can order your room service for you if you like (we didn't use this particular service, but they will do it, if you want them to)...and the gold card room service is not limited to the abbreviated room service menu that everyone else uses. You are permitted to order from the MDR menu, which is very nice. This service is offered any time during the normal MDR hours. The Concierge is most helpful, even before you board, if you are interested in renting a cabana at either Labadee or Coco Cay. They will contact you 5 - 7 days before sailing to introduce themselves and advise you of the perks of having a gold card. They can reserve a cabana and the cost is charged to your onboard account...IOW, you don't have to pre-pay for it like you do for most pre-cruise [paid] reservations. If you are interested in having a private party in your suite, they will help you make arrangements including food, beverages and servers. This one can be a LOT of work...the Concierge is invaluable for this. Edited February 17, 2016 by RFerrington
