Cheers! and Wine Package

I am an old school cruiser and have had those $1200 bills!

I was told by Carnival that I can indeed purchase a 5 bottle wine package as well as Cheers! (About $500 total for the week for me!) For me it is not about saving the money, but feeling like I can share wine at dinner and having all of the enhancements to the program like coffee, etc.

Here is my question. And I have searched far and wide and have not seen it addressed....

How late into the cruise could I purchase the wine package? Does it make more sense to just purchase per bottle if it looks like my Cheers! is getting low? Far from a lush but am with a party crowd and I am known to drink half of most things and not much more when they get warm!

Anybody bought wine PACKAGES later in the cruise or do you go for the per bottle at that point?

Thanks in advance!

Six of one half dozen of the other. We have bought both the five bottle and the drink package. We split the bottle package with my brother who didn't have the drink package. So it worked well when we did dinner together and we just ordered a bottle for the four of us off the wine package. Other nights we just ordered off the drink package, except there were a couple of wines they didn't pour by the glass and we then did a bottle off the drink package.

your cheers resets every day. You have 15 each day. so if you run low in a particular day, it resets the next day so you wont 'run low' late in a cruise

I understand the 15 per day...frankly...my friends and I are shot drinkers that stay out pretty late sometimes. If I have had a few across the day at the pool, casino etc. then the wine will be nice to have at dinner to save those other....or not..for later. Not sure if two alcohol shots are counted as one or two either. Just want few surprises. It shocks me I am considering Cheers! as I have skipped it a few times.

2 shots are counted as 2 drinks. if you had 2 shots, you would have to order 1, then wait 5 minutes and then order the other so its definitely 2 drinks

WAIT! That doesn't REALLY make sense because a shot is often a mixture of different liquors in one and the same size as say...a shot of whisky. They don't charge you 4 drinks and make you wait for each layer in the mixed drinks. Anyone with any real time experience with this?

if they have to put it in 2 separate shot glasses (2 shots), They will charge you for 2 drinks. (and they wont give you a 'double shot' in the same glass.

Most Fru Fru drinks are a mix of different liquors also but charged as one drink. I have read they wont give you a fru fru drink with a side car with cheers because that is 2 drinks.

But I agree... someone with experience can validate this

If you order a B52 or another layered shot that is one drink. If you order a shot of baileys, a shot of kahlua, and a shot of grand Marnier then that's 3 drinks.

thats what I was thinking, thanks!

Maybe think about it this way. If you have to say 'double, or 2, or use the word 'and' or 'with', its probably more than one drink'

ordering a B52 is one drink

ordering a kahlua shot 'AND' a baileys shot is 2 drinks and cheers wont allow it (you have to wait 5 minutes)

ordering a pina colada 'WITH' a sidecar is 2 drinks and cheers wont allow it (you have to wait 5 minutes)

ordering a double anything is 2 drinks and cheers wont allow it (you have to wait 5 minutes)

why cant you wait 5 minutes between shots. its really not that long.

This is why I don't like messaging or text. No context sometimes....sorry! What I was referring to WERE shots and B52s are my fave! Just didn't know if the multi liquor shots were considered as two. Some bad info out on CC and I was trying to make sure. Thanks! You guys were big help!

So back to the wine. Is it a certainty that if you purchase a bottle of wine using the 25% discount for a bottle with Cheers! that you can't share that bottle at dinner with your spouse, friend, partner etc due to the "no sharing" restriction of Cheers!....So my wife and I get Cheers! and I order a bottle at dinner, only I can drink it? She has to get her own bottle? Kinda nuts there. And does a bottle count towards the daily 15 drink limit?

you can share the wine if you buy the bottle. it does NOT count toward your 15
