Solstice port or starboard?

I cannot speak to these ports, but be aware that the smoking areas by the pool and the back of the ship are on the port side. If you book a balcony right under the pool or on the aft port side you may occasionally smell smoke on your balcony if that bothers you

I've never done an excursion with the cruise line before and I've been on at least 20 cruises. I'm concerned in Juneau, we have to tender - arriving at 1:30pm and departing at 10pm. I'm reading that the tender process take a while. Is this excursion like "herding cattle"? How big/many poeple on the whale watching boat? I thought about the Marv whale watching that departs the dock at 4:20pm and gets back around 9pm. AM I safe to get off the ship in time and back for the last tender in time or do I go with the cruise ship excursion? Please help!!!

Sailing on Solstice from Sydney via Brisbane, cairns, Yorkers knob, Darwin, Bali and Singapore would you choose a port or starboard cabin?

Actually aft as the views are better. Little difference as you do not know exactly how the ship will dock.

I would suggest a slight lean towards port side as this will give you the greatest opportunity of seeing land for a greater part of the cruise rather than ocean... Ship will sail a fair way out to sea but may still be in sight of land. We have booked on the cruise after you to return to Oz following dry dock.
